Heero had spent most of his day looking for two things: a weapon, and his warden. He'd had to settle for collecting pens in the pocket of his leather jacket and a letter opener that had been in his counterpart's room, which was definitely not ideal, but you could take out someone with a pen, if you had to. And he certainly knew how to.

Now he just needed to find Olive, and that had been harder, especially while trying to stay under the radar, until as he rounded a corner, he saw her walking down the hall. Or, really, more like staggering, using the wall for support, and immediately, he froze.

He didn't know what to do. Had she been hurt? What had happened? Where was this threat so he could get it out of the way before it hurt anyone else? What the hell was he supposed to do with her in the mean time? Everyone was a threat here, and they couldn't stay hidden forever.

He didn't respond but to head off to one of the closets and pull out a large, fuzzy blanket, which was 100% not his taste, but would probably do the job just fine anyway before coming back and sort of robotically putting it over her shoulders. "Do you want me to go after him?"

You're a good man, Heero Yuy. She tugged the blanket around her, and tugged her legs up, crossing them as she draped the whole thing over her self. "Thanks," however, turned into a very alarmed "No! No, don't, just. Just forget it, okay. I'm all right. As long as he doesn't come bursting in here, just. Just ignore it."

He was quiet for a long moment before nodding, not really sure what he was supposed to be doing. "Okay."

He was tense, and wanted to go out and solve the problem, or do something tangible to actually stop it from getting worse. He hadn't been trained to comfort or take care of someone who needed it, but although he might have felt horribly confused and frustrated, his expression remained blank.

If Olive was waiting for comfort, she realized, eventually, that it wasn't coming. She wanted to be home, more than she ever had been - but Heero was fifteen, and she was pretty sure he had no idea what to do. So she shifted the blanket and patted the bed next to her.

"Can we just stay here? I mean, will you stay with me?"

He hesitated for a moment, arms folded in front of his chest and generally not sure what to do before nodding and walking over to sit next to her. There was still space between them, but it was hopefully enough of a gesture to reassure her that she wasn't alone and he wasn't planning on running off.

"I'm not going anywhere."

God, he could be the sweetest kid without ever meaning it. Olive offered a watery smile, and shifted to nudge him a little with her shoulder. "Thanks," she said quietly - and hunkered down to lean elbows on knees, and pretend that this didn't upset her.

He might have been able to manage a not-smile if this were under less stressful circumstances, but as it was, he was still very tense and very ready for something to go horrifically wrong.

So he was quiet for a long moment, trying to figure out what to do or say, and eventually settling on:

"Do you need anything?"

Olive shook her head, and managed a short, watery smile for him. "No. So long as no one comes bursting through the door, I think I'll be okay. Just - do you mind if I lay down?"

"No." Why would he mind? Olive you're still weird even when you're injured and freaked out.

She's weird all the time, duh. But Olive mumbled her thank you and shifted back to flop down on the bed, tugging the blanket close. She missed her mom all over again. The Barge sucks.
