Toshiko showed up about twenty minutes before the arranged time. This felt like a bad idea - her mind felt too busy, reeling with anger at her Inmate and (inevitably) guilt that she'd allowed him to kill someone - but honestly? She'd just given in. If this was one small concession she could make for the sake of a quiet life, she would.

She sat down in an armchair without looking at Rinzler - without saying a word. If he had anything to say before CLU arrived, he could do it without her encouragement.

Rinzler turned to watch Toshiko as she stepped through the door, watching her as closely as a jealous groom would his bride as she made her way over to the armchair. Scarcely had she seated herself before he stalked over, looming over her like a second shadow.

He disengaged the disc from his back with an audible click and held it out to her. There would be no mistaking where his loyalties lay.

She just looked at him for a moment, and if the gesture made her soften at all it didn't show. She accepted the disc, holding it in both hands.

"Thank you."

And sometime near the specified time, CLU stepped across the room's threshold. One swift glance around the area found Rinzler, situated by an unknown female User. His gaze settled on Toshiko for a good moment, then shifted to Rinzler's disc in her hands.

A pleasant smile slipped onto his face, and his attention fixed back onto the User. "You must be Rinzler's warden." And someone who CLU hadn't been aware existed up until a few hours ago. But that, itself, would be dealt with later.
