The port had Iago feeling good. He remembered the plan he had made before and knew he had to do it now, while his spirits were high. He took care of a few things, knowing that he was most certainly going to get punished for this, and whistled a bit as he made his way up to Crane's room. Once he reached the second level, though, he paused and just waited in the common room, occasionally glancing down the hallway.
When he finally saw Crane walking, he stood up and casually followed behind him, as if he was just off for a stroll up to the dining hall. Crane was a paranoid creature; Iago knew that. But, as soon as he saw his opportunity, when Crane opened the door to his room, it took one fluid movement, as if Iago was some kind of jungle cat, to shove the door open so that he could try and force his way inside.
