Dick shrugged, still trying to make it look like he hadn't noticed their tail, strolling purposely along, like a man looking for something specific, but not in any particular rush ( ... )

Costigan followed his warden's lead and he began very slowly to veer to the right, knowing Dick would pick up on the subtle change in direction. It was something he'd actually caught sight of earlier and the small eating area, tucked away behind everything, had looked rather promising for this kind of thing. Hopefully the warden remembered it as well and could approve of veto the inmate's plan.

Where Dick had had training, the inmate had learned to fight with whatever was around him. He didn't care about getting injured so long as he came out on top and it wouldn't be the first time he'd taken more than one guy at a time. He didn't have the jump on the three behind them, but he also had his warden by his side. He hoped it could work.

"Room to move, but not too much. My bigger concern is exits."

The vigilante followed Costigan, recognizing the area and smiling slightly as he did. It was pretty perfect for what he was assuming would go down - out of the way, with enough room to maneuver, definitely with a potential exit or two one or both of them could take - and already he was noting structures and objects to look out for and that could be useful in the fight ( ... )
