Of course, this would be the deputy's lucky day since the wind seemed to be stirring up more than dust. Heading into town from the east, an especially large figure plods into view, covered from head to foot to protect himself from the sand whipped up by the merciless wind.

Hardened eyes scan the area, pause on the deputy, then move away dismissively before continuing further into the town itself.

There was a brow raised at the dismissal. Who was this person? Did he not know who Mott was? Franklin was determined to find out the answer to both. Even if it meant getting his suit dirty.

He approached the stranger, putting on an authoritative voice to match a casual, 'I'm just a friendly Deputy' smile.

"Don't recall seeing you around here before."

Pausing in his steps once again, it took a moment for him to once again look in the direction of the squeaky clean deputy. Either the man hadn't worked a day in his life...or he killed someone else who hadn't and stole his clothes.

"Cause I'm not from round here," he answered in a deep, gravelly voice which sounded like he hadn't used it recently.

Franklin placed his thumbs in his belt loops, mimicking a posture he'd seen countless times before.

"Then its good you're meeting with the law first thing." Even if it was a meeting the stranger hadn't wanted. "I'm Deputy Mott, and I'll need to know your name before you proceed further."

Tim rolled his yes as Franklin walked in, though he was careful to look away as he did it. He was the youngest deputy in town, barely twenty, and he didn't want to make waves - but he did know uselessness when it slapped him in the face.

"You're a right terror, Frank," he said dryly, looking up from his gun. It was old, a hand-me-down from his pa - and worn it might be, but Tim prferred to think of it as well loved.
