[Mrs Cobb isn't going inside the saloon at all, but she's passing by en route from having just bought a gun from Mr Slater. She's got the wrapped package clutched tightly to her chest and she's trying to look much, much calmer than she actually is. It's only mostly working.]
[At first Mrs Cobb doesn't even realize she's being spoken to. People have been kind to her since Leonard died, but often it seems as if their gazes skip right over her, as if they don't want to talk for too long lest bereavement be catching somehow. Then she glances up and sees the handsome stranger smiling at her and she actually skids to a stop in confusion.]
Arthur raised his glass in greeting and grinned. "Thank you, sir. You sure got a--" He winked at one of the smiling girls, chuckling. "--welcoming town here." He threw back half of his drink, then offered his hand. "Arthur Black. Pleased to meet you."
[OOC: YES. It's silly that I blanked on it, since I used to see them like every day.]
"And I'm sure it'll be a pleasure to be here," he replied with equally practiced sincerity. He leaned his back against the bar, watching the women pass as they spoke-- seemingly easily distracted by the fairer sex, particularly when an especially attractive one passed by. Better to keep the image of a harmless heart-breaker than call any attention to himself as a potential threat to the locals' wellbeing. "Both," he answered, finishing the drink and setting the glass back on the bar. "Nothing definite, mind you, just the... prospects of business and pleasure."

[He gives a polite smile, looking SO SO RESPECTABLE.] Afternoon, sir. [He takes a drink, looking around as though he's making sure no one else is listening.] Business.
Arthur was nowhere to be seen by the time she arrived, but it didn't take overlong for Sherry to work out where he had taken up a room. The inn was a natural choice; boarding houses always came with some busybody or other sticking their nose in, and that didn't suit. On the other hand, they could be a good source of gossip when well-tenanted, and if she took a room in the inn it'd likely be assumed she was running business out of there. Something to think about.
Nonetheless, it took only a few minutes of oh-gosh-I'm-new-and-lost chitchat with the innkeeper to work out only a couple of the rooms were occupied, and when he abandoned his post a moment she wandered upstairs. She could always tell which room was Arthur's, he had his ways about him, and a quick peek out of the window showed that slick head of hair heading back in her direction.
She smiled and arranged herself neatly on his bed, revolver in hand, and waited.
Despite making a show of drinking, Arthur didn't let it get too far. He was still in control-- a little looser, maybe, but he could go a few more rounds before he was drunk. He hadn't seen his partners yet, but he was sure they'd made their way to the settlement already. Must've been scoping out other locations, talking up the people who were too good and Christian to partake of the goods The Green Haus had to offer

The moment she'd heard his feet on the stairs she had the gun lifted, and the moment he peeked round the edge she had a steady bead on him. Of course, he clearly cared as much about that as she did about him doing the same in kind.
"You'd say that to all the girls, if you stuck around any long enough. Makes me feel all kinds of special."

"That's because you are special, Sherry." Playful tone aside, he meant it in a way. They all came up together as kids, and he'd do his best to look out for her and Junior. He holstered his gun and shrugged his coat off, tossing it onto a nearby chair before he sat down on the bed. "Find any prospects? This whole town's full of people who couldn't tell a skunk from a house cat."
Well lookee there, someone fresh. Sveta made her way over, leaning against the table and giving him her best smile. And, because she knew some men loved those "exotic women," she played up her accent as much as she could. "Just one drink? You...cowboys always have at least two."
She blinked big eyes at him. She might not be the most "seasoned" of saloon girls, but she knew how to use that to her advantage.
That accent certainly caught his interest. Arthur looked up at her with a quirk of a smile. "I hate nothin' more than disappointing a beautiful lady such as yourself, miss. But just between you and me...?" He beckoned her close as though he was about to impart a secret. "I'm no cowboy." Then, he held up his glass. "But this is my third."
"Oh, is it a mystery?" She reached over, putting a hand on his wrist to initiate touch first. "You can trust me." Idly, she played with the ends of her hair and kept her grin. "So...who are you, mysterious stranger?" Not that she really cared. But it was her job to at least pretend to be interested.

Well.
Arthur stops in his tracks, looking back at the approaching woman. His mouth quirks into a charming, playful smile as he tips his hat.]
