Early morning- Deck consultcriminal March 21 2011, 11:05:00 UTC
Jim doesn't really like breakfast. He tends to spend it with just a piece of fruit or dry toast up on deck. He decided to wear the suit this morning, as dressing as "Jim from IT" really annoys him sometimes.

The suit was what caught Bruce's attention first. He had stumbled onto the deck in the morning for coffee. Just coffee. It wasn't as good as Alfred's, but it was as strong, and it woke him up when he actually bothered to sleep, and kept him awake when he didn't.

When he saw Jim wearing that suit, his lips twitched upwards slightly. Eyes flickered over the array of items before he took a plate and placed a single piece of toast on it. Then, he slid it over to Jim.

Just a guess, really.

"Quite overdressed." He was himself in a polo shirt and slacks, the scars on his arms - some from burns, a few slashes - showing. There was also a stark white ring at the base of the little finger of his left hand.

Jim shook his head. "I like it." He straightened the jacket and turned to lean back against the railing and meet his warden's face. He, of course, noticed all those fine little details that most might have skipped over, but the process took only a moment before it was finished and he gave Bruce a winning smile.

"Just because most like to spend their time looking a mess doesn't mean I should be forced to the sane fate." Then a pause. "Why are you here?"

There was also a barely-healed wound at his temple, uncovered by a bandage. He knew that Jim was looking over him, analyzing him- but if his inmate didn't figure out what he was a man used to constant combat during their first meeting, when he gave himself away, he was giving his intelligence far too much credit.

"Having coffee," he said, raising his cup slightly as proof. "And offering you breakfast."

Mid morning - Level Five consultcriminal March 21 2011, 11:07:59 UTC
What's he doing on level five? Well, that's where his room is, of course! And the library! But he's not at either. Just the corridor for now.

Lo, there is an individual passing through the hallway. 'Passing' is something of an inaccurate term, however, in that Jason certainly makes a pretense at doing so, but is clearly loitering. His task does not necessitate secrecy, but he'd decided on secrecy nonetheless, and he does not bother to hide the air of furtiveness as he casually withdraws from a door (could it even be Jim's door?).

The cards are in his hand. They are roughly three by five inches. Nonetheless, Jason will meet Jim's eye if Jim looks at him, and offer in exaggeratedly innocuous tones, "Watchtower?"

Not even Jim could decipher what exactly that meant and he just stared at the other man for a moment. Luckily, he was still pretending to be 'Jim from IT' so the confused, almost worried, look was something he had adopted for quite a while now.

"Hmm?" He took a step back, noting the cards but, again, saying nothing about them.

Keeping up the act, because why the fuck not (this reasoning is beginning to dominate a lot of what he does on the Barge), Jason says, serenely, "Do you know God by name, sir?"

Today, Jim is in a rather good mood, so, in between bites, he's whistling softly. He changed back into casual clothes, at least. Sitting by himself for the moment, he scribbles random notes down in a notebook by his side.

He's sitting, his feet propped up in front of him, with his laptop seated precariously on his legs. Playing on the screen is an episode of Glee and he's thoroughly enjoying watching it.

Armand was still tired from sleeping on the floor of a hallway in Level Zero for two of the last four nights. He'd checked up on the garden this morning, pulling the plants that didn't survive four days of neglect and watering or tending the others. He wasn't sure when Persephone was going to be free of Zero, but he knew he needed her help. The greenhouse keys kept feeling like a heavier and heavier responsibility.

He heard some noise from the common room, and stopped at the doorway to see what it was. He didn't recognize the man there. Nor could he quite tell what he was doing. "What do you have there, good sir?" he asked, erring on the side of politeness. They were all shipmates, after all, both inmates and wardens.

Jim looked up at the voice and arched a questioning brow. "Watching Glee," he said automatically, though he figured, judging by his appearance and manner of speaking, that he might not fully understand what that meant. Jim tried not to sigh. Why didn't anyone know anything about this show? He would just have to do what he could.

Turning the laptop around, he showed the other man the scene he was watching. Two girls in the bathroom singing "Telephone" by Lady Gaga.

"It's wonderfully fun."

Armand was usually quite obviously one of the old-timey bunch on board, but having recently come from the garden by way of grabbing a quick luck, he wore jeans and a button down shirt. But his long hair and ribbon might still be a dead giveaway to the observant. He stepped around and a little closer to get a better look at what Jim was watching. "Oh, tis like a movie." He won't ask why it isn't on the television, which is his main experience with watching movies.

"Why are they singing?" He wasn't negating the possibility of fun--the singing was entertaining--but he was still confused. So answers first, fun later.

It's dinner time, so it's back to the dining hall. He doesn't intend to stay long, but he still has to wait his turn for food. Boring. Boring. He hates waiting, but one must always try to at least blend in.
