Coyolxauhqui had been completely oblivious for the past few days. She would sleep, then wake, then sleep, then wake, then eat, and then cry and sleep, completely uninterested in finding out why D, a stranger, had decided to save her from the cold. The Doctor was gone; her guide had disappeared, off to save the stars, and the better she felt, the harder it was to get out of the bed. Being awake just reminded her of the things that were taken away from her - the stars, her guide, her freedom.

She was seated on the floor with her legs crossed and eyes closed, trying in vain to reach someone or something beyond the shop, when there came D's voice at her door. Nahautl. It made her smile.

"Yes, please do," she replied, voice even and pleasant-sounding as she spoke in her native tongue.

He nudged the door open carefully and slipped inside, placing an ornate tray on the nearest table. Coyolxauhqui looked...well. Not necessarily better but certainly healthier.

"It has been a few days. How do you feel?"

Coyolxauhqui's eyes opened and then followed the tray of food as D placed it aside. She was feeling well enough that she wanted whatever was on that tray, but kept her attention on D for the sake of maintaining politeness. He had saved her, and so she owed him her full attention.

"Much better than before; I am no longer cold and tired. I know I have you to thank for that." She also knew that she would have just let herself freeze if he hadn't dragged her back inside.

D could work out the same for himself, given her rather spirited struggle (albeit one hindered by the onset of hypothermia) when he had brought her inside.

"It was nothing, I assure you. Please, eat." He sat down in a high-backed armchair that may or may not have been in the corner of the room a few minutes ago.

"During my last stay here I hadn't noticed the Barge changed its seasons, somewhat," he said a few moments later, this something of an opening gambit to what in the world were you doing naked on deck at this time of year?
