The port had given Morgan much to consider -- probably not comparable to the weight it placed on her Inmate's shoulders. But even past his realization more things had given her still more to ponder. Speaking to Agent K, and on being asked if she would leave, even for ( Read more... )

West had been on edge since returning to the Barge, which he honestly hadn't expected. What with the realisation that there was a future out there for him-- with Billy-- he thought he would feel some sort of catharsis. Instead, he was apprehensive. The return to routine was jarring, and he didn't find any contentment with it. In fact, the future felt more uncertain than it had since his arrival on the Barge, and he wasn't quite sure what to do now.

He looked up at the knock on his door, setting his tea aside to go and answer it.

"Morgan." He moved aside. "Come in."

Morgan entered, hovering just aside from the door. The tension made the air so thick that it almost felt like they were fighting again, which was disappointing, in a way, but perhaps it was her fault that most unhappy discussions between them usually began with simmering anger. "I supposed that it was high time," she mused, and gestured into the room. "Can we sit?"

West nodded, motioning towards the sofa. "Of course. Have a seat." He took a few steps forward and grabbed the cup and saucer, retreating to the kitchenette. "Would you like some tea?" He offered out of politeness, really. Anything he had to offer would have been lukewarm, and he wasn't particularly interested in brewing some more. It was more to draw this out, avoid the matter at hand for a few more moments.

"No, thank you." Morgan didn't want anything to distract her, honestly. If she had something in her hands to mess with she'd only trail off and stop talking. She sat, waiting for him to return and settle down before beginning a little hesitantly. "Before I say anything else, I just want you to know how proud I am of you that you said all of that in port, and that you held yourself up in the aftermath."
