Who: Morgan Adams, Henry West
Where: West's Cabin.
When: After dinner
Warnings: None.
The port had given Morgan much to consider -- probably not comparable to the weight it placed on her Inmate's shoulders. But even past his realization more things had given her still more to ponder. Speaking to Agent K, and on being asked if she would leave, even for a while, it shocked her when he spoke so candidly about the chance she was likely to have. But what had inspired her to talk to her Inmate about graduation came well before that, in her confrontation with Rayne. She'd all but said it there. He'd done his time.
That it was so easy to say, even if it was spontaneous, suggested all it really needed to.
They had agreed that they should talk when port was done, and it seemed only that the right time was waiting to present itself. Rather than wait until they both seemed ready, however, she decided it was best to get it over with. She expected him to have apprehensions on the subject, but she couldn't allow her own to turn the waters murky. And she did have them.
Was she wrong? Had his desire for a normal life come and gone since the port? Did he return to the barge and his routine here, only to have it further jade him to the notion of moving on to something else? Would she be afraid to let him go and start fresh, with a new inmate?
Was she, already?
Coming to his cabin door, she shook her head and knocked.
