Hayley gave the sort of dismissive nod that said she would begrudgingly agree. The girl wasn't fond of what was going on around them, sure, but she wanted to help. In some weird way, this seemed like the way she could make up for letting Joker get away and put herself back even in the universe's mind because, beyond justice, she was all for helping people. Given how much she had been wandering around without getting caught, she wasn't as worried as Capa about staying out of sight; she was clearly not someone the guards were looking for

"What else do you think it would come to, if not that?" She asked sincerely.
Hayley straightened in her position behind him, not caring about his hair getting on her bed. She grabbed the longest chunk that remained and started cutting it slowly down to a shorter length; if she started by trying to make it even, then she could try to make it shorter. At least it took her mind off of the outside. After a few snips, she muttered in response to the latter, "That's good, because this probably won't be too fashionable."
"I don't know." Sacrifice was so...illogical. He couldn't really fathom the thought process behind it, as he didn't really have a religion. It just made him think back to Pinbacker and the experiences that he had on the Icarus I. That he felt he needed to sacrifice the crew, that they all did, because this was what God had wanted. And really, that just gave him the chills to recall.
So he focused on the hair. "I'll get Donny to do it properly when all of this is past," he said. "So whatever you do will be good enough until then." He paused for a moment, staring at his hands.
Hayley just continued cutting, moving slowly around to the back of his head, shifting sort of behind him as she did. Sometimes her elbow rested on his shoulder or back to keep the cut steady, other times not; he was the only person she felt comfortable being at all physical with, despite every physical action being platonic anyway. She continued with a small smile when he talked about Donny fixing it, but his next words made her freeze. After a beat, she finished the piece she was on, then she sat on her knees behind him.
"How? From what I hear, nothing really works on them. Plus everyone trained or with a gun seems to be hiding or.. being rounded up. There's a ton of them and we don't even know how they plan to sacrifice people. I mean, okay, yeah, I want to help, but what do we do?" Her tone began adamant and progressed to something quiet and discouraged by the end. After she finished, the girl straightened up again with a small sigh and starting continuing on his hair.
He reached up to brush hair from his face, wrinkling his nose as it tickled his ears and the back of his neck. It had been so long since he had a proper haircut that he had actually forgotten how it felt.
For a moment, he wondered what Arthur would say, but that just made him realize that he hadn't even checked on him or Harper since this all happened. He had been focused on trying to make sense of this and then getting to Hayley. HE could only assume that they were alright.
It made him less stressed to believe that. Besides, Hayley was the one who needed him the most...and he needed to be here with her. Wanted to be there to keep her safe. Or rather...as safe as he could.
"I don't know. Whatever we do...we can't do it by ourselves, obviously." He glanced back to the table again. "What is that?" He gestured towards the smoke bomb.
Hayley tossed the scissors onto the desk, not caring that they slid into something else and nearly knocked it over. She gave him a mischievous grin before hopping off the bed. The inmate moved over to the smoke bomb on her table, picking it up and handing it gently over to him.
"It's a smoke bomb? I got three. You throw it down and it creates a small smoke screen.. Enough to get away, ideally. Sorta like a ninja." She was far too excited about this, a wide grin spreading across her face. "But it can kind sting your eyes, I guess, so you have to be careful." Hayley held up a finger. "But!"
The girl moved over to her messenger bag, flipping it open and carefully pulling out a canister the size of a can of green beans with a little loop reminiscent of fire extinguishers. She moved over to show it to Capa, though she didn't hand him this one. "This is.. okay, it's a smoke bomb too? But better. Bigger, better, faster, stronger?.. Or however that song goes. The point is, it could fill an entire hall with smoke pretty fast. I'm supposed to

He knew what a smoke bomb was, but he had never actually held one in his hands. It was always something the other kids did as jokes, at least in the movies. But he could see how it might be an advantage here, especially when conventional weapons didn't seem to work. Distractions might be best, especially for these...creatures. He placed it down beside him and then ran his fingers through his much shorter hair, no longer annoyed by it.
As she continued to explain, he couldn't help but be slightly impressed by it, a smirk crossing his features. "I don't suppose that you'll tell me where you got all of these." He could make a few guesses, but it would be easier just to have her tell him. "I'm not upset about it...I think that these are probably one of the better weapons we have against them...but I'm just curious."
Hayley took the smoke bomb he set on the bed almost immediately, protective of her treasures. When he first asked, as she was returning the canister to her bag and the smoke bomb to the table, she hesitated slightly. While it wasn't exactly a secret and she didn't like keeping things from him anyway, she also had a decent idea of how he felt about weapons. Luckily, his elaboration on his feelings reassured her and she turned around with a small smile.
The inmate tugged her sleeves down awkwardly, moving then to try to start cleaning up some of the major clumps of hair that had clustered around where he was sitting to throw them away. But just giving Capa the name wasn't what she was worried about as much as trying to explain why she was kind of friends with him already. "Dick Grayson?.. He's a warden, in case you're wondering."
He helped her clean up the strands of hair that were left and stood up, walking over to a mirror and staring at his reflection. He understood that it made him more than a little vain, but it was strange. He hadn't had his hair this short since he left Earth. It made him feel...different...seeing himself like this.
"Dick Grayson," he repeated and gave a nod after, returning to sit down in a chair. He didn't even think to ask why she was friends with him. It didn't occur to him that it would bean issue. So he accepted that and made a mental note to talk to him...just like Will Graham. There was a lot to do.
"Alright, Hayley...let's go see who else we can find. Someone has to be planning something."
Hayley watched him look over himself, wondering if he was more disappointed or more pleased than he let on. As usual, Capa seemed indifferent. At his words, she tensed nervously, standing there by the trash can and continuing to watch him. When he didn't pursue the matter at all, she couldn't help but wonder if his name alone was meant to be a question, or maybe Capa trusted her, or maybe he just didn't care right now. It was hard, trying to predict a logical person.
"Give me one sec, okay?" She asked with a smile, welcoming the change in subject. The inmate pulled out her communicator, rolling through some of the recent things. Her expression changed to one of concern for a moment, then she put her communicator away and nodded at her warden. Then she moved to return the taser and smoke bomb to her pockets, picking up the messenger bag again as well. "Okay. Let's go."

"If this is a sacrifice, we have to stop them."
