Edgar, meanwhile, was standing in the third floor common room. Singing to himself, but clear enough to be heard by someone out in the hallway. Mostly because he was bored, and had nothing better to do.

"In a cave many miles to the south
Lives a boy born with fangs in his mouth.
Sleeping until the fading light,
Flying through bloody dreams;
When he awakes the summer night is filled with screams."

[OOC: He's singing this in this voice.]

Erik was passing by, slipping through the shadows and attempting to remain unnoticed, when the sound of singing stopped him. At first he did not know whether it was pleasure or pain with which he responded, the boy's voice being clearly untrained (to Erik's ear) and unoperatic. But there was something there.

Maybe it was the "fangs in his mouth." Erik knew no such libretto. It intrigued him.

He slipped into the room, attempting to find something to hide behind (boats were not excellent places for haunting, there were too few crannies, too efficient use of space) and was struck, again, by the vision before him. A mere boy, yet... hideous. Bald and fanged and those ears (oh but he had a nose, a lovely nose, all was not lost) and he stood without shame or fear.

There was no where to hide, really, so Erik stood as close to the wall as possible, listening and watching, transfixed despite the fact that fellow feeling--if he had any--might have dictated that he turn away.

Edgar, of course, noticed him quickly, seeing as there wasn't really a good way to sneak around the common room. He looked over, curious about the audience member he'd gotten. "Hello."

Erik started, which really meant he drew himself up to his full height, clad all in black.

"You will never truly be a good singer if you do not learn to project."

Thomas had finally ventured out, trying to scope out his new prison. To remove the pesky obstacle of curious people, he estimated when to sneak out during a time where there were little people about; first, gain his ground, interaction would come later.

Taking extra precaution, he left his full suit on - cowl and all - and had thus far made it to level 5 without too many setbacks in the plan. Now, standing before the library, he felt the familiar itch for knowledge. With the plan of gaining more ground on this Barge, he headed towards the library.

Erik, too, thirsted for knowledge. Especially with the technology he had thus far encountered and heard about--enough, anyway, to momentarily distract him from his anger at being here and his resignation to dying.

But there was an idiotic figure heading into the library already, in a ridiculous costume Erik could not imagine was serving to keep the man's disfigurement a secret. Erik, of course, has class; opera dress and a simple black mask which had yet to realize made him quite as out of place as the man he now irritatedly stalked. From behind a bookshelf.

Throwing his voice, he sought to rid himself of the troubling presence.

"I believe you are in the wrong place," he intoned darkly. "Leave, or you will face my imposing monologing."

He blinked. That wasn't right.

"Monologing?" Thomas said with a hint of mirth, "Well, I must give you credit for unique threats."

Though he did not wish to show it, he had been taken aback - on his world, he was the one who lurked in shadows, he was the one who appeared from nowhere, and he was not enjoying having the tables turned on him - however petty the threat may have been. Endeavoring not to be obvious, Owlman tried to search out the voice, to no avail.

Erik, quick as thought, crept around to the other side of the masked man and threw his voice again.

"You will get more than threats when I am done with you," Erik said, his voice spectral and awesome. "You will get... well, no, you will get threats, as I am unlikely to risk my security here by killing you as I might habitually have done."

His mouth clamped shut. Something was very wrong.
