Who: Castiel and Elizabeth
Where: PORT!
When: Day 1
Warnings: Probably not

Castiel was looking forward to this trip more than he thought he might. He had stashed away a couple of pills when Dean had come over and those were hiding in his pocket, waiting to be taken. He had packed a bag, of course, as he had to learn very quickly what it was like ( Read more... )

Elizabeth, meanwhile, was entirely ignorant as to what possible supplies could be needed to survive in the wilderness. She had taken long journeys before, certainly, but there had always been a carriage present if it were meant to last overnight and there had always been a servant of some kind to pack the necessary materials as well as to know how they might be used properly given certain conditions. Thus, at the end of it all, she left with only a blanket, a book, some candles and matches, and a firm resolution to succeed with her inmate. All of this was nicely fit into the odd pack that had appeared in her room not two days before ( ... )

Rude didn't apply to him. He had his own bag, she had hers. It was only efficient that they carry their own things. If he carried hers for her, then he would be overburdened and, frankly, he was the one who needed to be light. If they were attacked, he was the one who would be most suited to defending them.

He gave a laugh at her awe.

"It will do, but if the tide comes in, we will not have a place to go." He looked around and then back to her. He was not complaining. The view was beautiful, but his own awe at God's creation had been lost when he stopped believing in God.

"I do not suppose you brought anything to help us out here? A knife, at the very least?"

Elizabeth turned to stare at him. A knife? Yes, it might have been a practical thing to have, all things considered, but why should she have thought to bring one? "It is not proper for a lady to be in possession of such things unless preparing a meal. I would have thought you would be inclined to bring such supplies."

Although the environment was still beautiful, she was a bit disheartened by the man's jaded attitude toward the entire situation. With a slight frown marring her lips temporarily, she returned to her pack and picked it up again. His talk of tide made her nervous for ruining her things. "I did have the sense to bring candles and matches, at least."

"My dear Warden, you are, as already said, the warden. I am an inmate. If I carried a knife, I would be thrown in zero. Or accused of trying to assault someone. And I have no way of procuring a knife, anyway." He shook his head and turned around, walking towards the small batch of vines.

"And the matches will come in handy. Make sure to keep them dry. There's a jar in my bag that has some cloth and bandages, you might want to put them in there so that they are sealed inside." He pulled on a few of the vines against the rock, smiling as they gave way. Good. They might be able to use it and braid it like rope.

Or rather, judging by his warden- HE might be able to braid it into rope.
