Who: Castiel and Elizabeth
Where: PORT!
When: Day 1
Warnings: Probably not
Castiel was looking forward to this trip more than he thought he might. He had stashed away a couple of pills when Dean had come over and those were hiding in his pocket, waiting to be taken. He had packed a bag, of course, as he had to learn very quickly what it was like

He gave a laugh at her awe.
"It will do, but if the tide comes in, we will not have a place to go." He looked around and then back to her. He was not complaining. The view was beautiful, but his own awe at God's creation had been lost when he stopped believing in God.
"I do not suppose you brought anything to help us out here? A knife, at the very least?"

Although the environment was still beautiful, she was a bit disheartened by the man's jaded attitude toward the entire situation. With a slight frown marring her lips temporarily, she returned to her pack and picked it up again. His talk of tide made her nervous for ruining her things. "I did have the sense to bring candles and matches, at least."

"And the matches will come in handy. Make sure to keep them dry. There's a jar in my bag that has some cloth and bandages, you might want to put them in there so that they are sealed inside." He pulled on a few of the vines against the rock, smiling as they gave way. Good. They might be able to use it and braid it like rope.
Or rather, judging by his warden- HE might be able to braid it into rope.

The warden did as she was told, reaching into her pack and pulling out the matches as well as one of the smaller candles. Moving over toward the proud and seemingly judgmental man, she held out a potentially impatient hand. "May I have your pack then? So that I might be able to do as you have suggested?"

Where he was from, he was a follower. He did what Dean told him to do and just made snarky comments on the side. He stayed in his room, had his girls, had his drugs, had his alcohol. Speaking of which.
When he handed over the jar, he pulled out a pill and took it dry, his hands shoved back into his pockets.
Now, what to do first. "Are you adverse to getting firewood while I make us a shelter?"

"Thank you." While she walked off to do that, he made a small pit for the fire, surrounded it with rock and then headed towards the nearest cliff around them.
He pulled out a sheet he had packed and ripped a few vines from the wall, using a particularly sharp looking rock as a knife.
"Just put the wood in the pit, if you don't mind."

"If you would loop that around the base of the tree, I will show you how to knot it."

"I think you will find that I am entirely more adaptive than you might imagine." She replied with the same sincere smile, wanting for him to have faith in her as much as she was beginning to believe in him. "Now, Mr Castiel. If you would please instruct me as to how to secure this vine."

"And please, I know that where you are from, it is proper to include the mister, but it is really not necessary. I was an angel, not a gentleman." And he also did not, did NOT like any kind of reminder that he was human. She was just providing that for him.
He finished tying the other two vines to the blanket and pointed. "These will attach to those two trees," he explained and stood up.
"And the water coming from the waterfall should be clean enough." It was hot, he had been working, and he needed a drink. And he was already contemplating his other pill...

Straightening, she nodded as if he might be seeking permission to go get a drink. Or maybe he was just explaining, and she was simply listening. Whatever the case, he spoke and she nodded and then she was pulling the blanket gently from her pack to lay out on the ground beneath their small shelter. They should at least have something to sit on other than the ground itself.
Her pack was slung on her back again after the blanket was settled and she realized then that she hadn't thought to bring any tin or silver at all; nothing could help them in eating or drinking. "Perhaps we should consider how we will be dining this evening."

He cupped his hand in the waterfall and took a long drink, closing his eyes at the taste. It was strange...but perhaps that was just the island herself. He took his fill and glanced back to her, blinking.
"I can try and get us fish, if you'd like. But I am trying to keep away from meat. Otherwise, I am sure there is some suitable fruit around." He moved to the fire pit next, stumbling a bit on his feet on the way.
Strange...He glanced back to see if anything had tripped him. Nothing.
"If you'd hand over the matches, I can start our fire..." He rubbed his eyes. The pill in his pocket- that wouldn't have worked this hard this fast.
