At the sound of Spencer's voice coming through the door, she stiffened. She and Spencer weren't close, and she was convinced that he could only be there for one reason. The question was, was that paranoia or genuine inference talking? "Coming," she called. Reaching the door quickly, she leaned against it for a moment, taking deep breaths.

Her fears were cemented as she opened the door a crack and saw Angel had tagged along. Spencer had brought the head of security. Did he think she was a danger to him; that he'd need protection? The thought upset her greatly. Did people really think of her that way? Or did they plan to haul her off to Level 0?

"Well," Libby said quietly, looking each of them in the eye in turn. "I suppose we should all sit down. Come in."

She walked back into her room, taking a seat on the couch. There was space enough next to her for someone else to sit, and a chair facing it from across the coffee table.

Angel was hanging around in the background, a little awkward at first because he was supposed to be here in an official capacity and as Libby's friend. He didn't want her to feel like they were ganging up on her, but he also had to make sure that this matter was handled, to keep the peace etc. etc.

Politics. He hated politics.

"Hi," he said, following Libby into the room and sitting next to her on the couch.

Dragging it out with small talk would probably only make things worse, so he got right to business. "Do you know why we're here?"

With Angel taking a seat on the couch, Reid took the lone seat and gave Libby an empathic glance. Angel had spoken up to allow Libby a chance to explain herself and Reid saw no reason at the moment to interject. While the temptation to defend her friends was obvious, Reid wanted to hear her own words on the matter, provided she was truthful about the whole thing.

"Yes," she said, looking at Spencer first but speaking to Angel. "I know why you're here, and I'm sorry." She shrugged with her hands, not sure what to say to make that seem real. She was truly sorry, but apologies were cheap. Would they think her apology was just lip service because she'd been caught?

"I want to let you know," she said to Spencer, "that if Billy had killed someone else...I'd like to think I would have done the right thing and turned him in. It would have been difficult, but I would have done as I should have this time." As far as she was concerned, that was the truth.

"I didn't ask Billy to kill him. I didn't imply it in any way, and I would never wish for that. But once he told me what had happened, after it was already over, I felt..."

She clenched her hands into tight fists, nails cutting into her palms. She knew she had to explain herself, but it was hard for her to even acknowledge the reason why to herself.
