Reid approached his inmate's room and knocked on the door, unaware of the fate that lay in store for him. "Billy?" He probably could have walked right in, he realized, but he afforded Horrible the privacy he wanted.

He was surprised Billy had suggested Chess. It had been awhile since Reid had played and he wondered how he would do against the super villain. Gideon had somehow managed to win the majority of the time, but Billy? What was his chess strategy? Reid scratched his wrist and waited for the door to open.

Dr Horrible opened the door quickly and gave Reid his warmest smile, "Hey! Reid! Come in!" Taking a couple of steps back, Billy waited for Reid to walk past him. He was kind of starting to get used to luring people into his room to injure them in some way, so hopefully his nervousness wasn't too apparent.

"I've not set up the board yet, but I've got it and all the pieces stashed under my work desk, I'll get it all out in a minute!"

"Oh, I can get it," Reid offered. There was no reason to suspect any harm would befall him from being helpful, not from his inmate. "Under the desk?" He moved towards the piece of furniture and knelt down by it, searching for a box with the familiar checkerboard pattern of the chess board.

"We haven't played Chess before-- why the change from Trivial Pursuit?" It was a complaint and Reid asked it with a cheerfulness that betrayed his ignorance to all Horrible had planned.

Reid turned away from him, and Billy let the door swing closed before slowly reaching for the piece of wood. When Reid bent over to get the Chess set that wasn't there? Billy could have considered it a sign that someone up there wanted his warden unconscious.

Carefully, Billy crept up behind Reid, before drawing back his arm, and answering, "Because the Trivial Pursuit was in your room." And you couldn't lure someone to your room with something you didn't have, duh.

Billy brought down his arm, slamming the piece of wood hard across the back of his wardens head.
