Tobias followed along with Jack without questioning the man. His father wouldn't have approved if he'd known, of course, but Tobias hoped he wasn't so quick to hunt them down. So far, so good.

Of course, he was itching for a chance to shoot up. As much as he wanted to see Rose and help Jack, spending his time with the warden prevented him from introducing dilaudid into his veins. He'd not even thought to bring a syringe with him, assuming that they'd be back on the Barge soon enough and not spending days in "town" or heading into the creepy looking forest. How wrong he had been.

"...let's go back to the Barge," He insisted finally when it became clear that Jack wanted to go explore the woods.

"What? Why?" Jack asked, stopping to frown at Tobias as another villager pointed them towards the woods. Jack kind of appreciated the fairytale storylines that shaped this place, because hell, it was making their quest easier. The forest was definitely was their best hope for finding the others. He was all ready to head into the trees, much as they did look kind of creepy, so Tobias' protest was a little annoying. "We need to find Harvey. And Rose."

He was trying not to think about all the things that were likely to happen in the forest. Big bad wolves, bands of outlaws, magic... Who knew?

He rolled his eyes at Tobias, turned towards the woods, and continued irritably, "Come on."

Tobias dragged his heels. "I want to go back. Please. If Rose is in the woods, how are we supposed to find her?"

As far as he could tell, the forest was large and ominous; what if the Barge left while they were searching? What if Rose wasn't even there? Tobias didn't care about Harvey, much less really know who he was. He only wanted to see his warden and get back to his room and drugs.

"What if Rose is on the Barge? Maybe we should look there..."

"We'll find her. The way I figure it, this whole place is a fairytale, right?" he said, holding up a hand and pausing to look back at Tobias. He sounded more confident than he really felt, but hey. "So, we're being pointed towards the forest, and obviously, when we go in, we'll find them. That's the way things work in these stories."

Jack just wanted to get into the forest, because, truth be known, the thought of it really was freaking him out a little bit. He knew they had to go in, and the sooner the better in his opinion.

"If Rose is on the Barge, we'll get back to her after wandering in the woods for a bit," Jack said, again, sounding more confident than he felt. "And I do need to look for Harvey. He's my inmate, Tobias."
