Had a BBQ, got my name in the Star
(Ahhh, my poor neglected LJ)
I had a big backyard BBQ on Friday. Such food, much success. I made two whole pork shoulders. Also, Jose was visiting from Colombia, so that was kinda the excuse to have the BBQ. I can now put down "Successfully brought my own fire art project to Burning Man" on my resume. But it was a hell of a lot of work, and I won't be doing it again anytime soon. -
Time flies by sometimes
It passed a few days ago without me noticing, but it's been just over10 years since I flew to Japan to fix myself and re-kindle that inner fire I used to have back at the start of university. ...then there are days like today where my friends and I build a shrimp cannon and realize it's pretty awesome. -
Still alive
I've been doing LED work on the set of a TV show for the past few months. Great project, really enjoyed it, technically demanding, and quite well paid. -
Hopping on a jet plane.
Off to Germany tomorrow to visit Marina. I'll be there for 2 weeks, then Italy with her for another week. After that I'm going over to Portugal to bum around with Francisco (aka Chic) for a week and a half. And then a few days in Madrid to catch my flight home. If anyone wants a postcard leave you address in the comments or send me an email. -
I'm pretty sure I saw someone die today.
I was locking up my bike in front of Sam's hardware because I needed to buy some window putty. I actually saw David (the owner of Sam's) outside his store as I pulled up. I also saw a streetcar go by, and noted that there was a light but definite cloud of dust coming out from the wheels (side note: streetcars use fine sand in their braking system ( Read more... )
