Mmmm, Atlantean.

Okay, to be fair, there are a lot of thoughts going through Adam's head at the moment, but the loudest and most frequent happens to be "mmm, atlantean."

The door swings open and he's got a smile on his face as he flops on to the couch.

"I'm hoooooooooome."

Adam's never really been one much for birthday celebrations. Aside from the presents, of course -- presents are always good. Somewhere, in a small bedroom in Lower Tadfield, toy planes sway gently in the breeze. Faded stuffed animals stare out through beady eyes, and games left untouched for years rot in their boxes.

Somewhere, in a small bedroom in Lower Tadfield, an empty room sits untouched. And things once loved are left, forgotten.

*Adam opens the door slowly, trying to keep it quiet. He doesn't want to be a bother, he wants to let her rest, he doesn't want her to ... worry about his worry. Eyes closed, he clicks the door shut behind him and leans against it.*

*He'd looked around the bar, no Thom. Out back, no Thom. Right then. If the Thom will not come to the Adam.... the Adam will come to Thom. He knocks on the door hesitantly, arrows and note in hand.*

What the hell, ask away.

*It's not that he's bored. Anything but. And he'd stay by Alanna's side 24/7, if they let him. But the healers come in twice a day or more, and they give him that look, and really it's best for all if he makes himself scarce in the meantime. Besides which, it'll take forever to go through all of the books in the Palace.*

*Adam glares at the door as Mrs. Hoffmeyer leaves, and he waits until he hears the door click before he goes back to the book he was working on in the back room.*
