I have no idea where this week went at all.

First up, fic pointers! Two more KB fics, which means I'm 3/5 of the way to a bingo (and I have ideas for the remaining two!)

"These Hands (Not Her Own)", Final Fantasy VIII, Ultimecia/Edea. Contains non-consent due to mind control. NC-17, 909 words. These hands are not her own, nor these thoughts; they are the other's.

I always found Rikku entertaining. Something about a can-do attitude, and the fact that she actually knows what the score is (while still being cheerful) unlike the other blonde nit in the party.

I grant her intro FMV probably helped, too.

(Also, if you're ever tempted, a guy on the SomethingAwful forums just finished a fairly comprehensive online playthrough of X-2, offering fairly interesting commentary on what the game did right.)

Well, yes, Rikku peeling off her clothes is pretty great.

I enjoyed X-2 okay the first time! I just think it has a number of Issues. But I do love Paine and Nooj. So much. (Though I grant you, matchmaking for monkeylemurs was a little ridic.)

Have you played 13 and/or did you have an opinion on it? Also, if you have a 360, Lost Odyssey strikes me as the sort of thing that would please a Wizard.

I've played about. . . . 15 minutes of 13. To be honest, I'm poking at about 3 JRPGs right now, not including trying to polish off the New Game + features in Personas 3 and 4. Oh Gust, you silly silly people.

Sadly, I have no 360. Maybe when the next-gen system comes out and they're stupid cheap. Of course, that presupposes a lot of spare time, which I'm starting to run a little short of.

P3 and P4 are such fantastic games. I want to replay them both. Tiiiiiime, where are you!

What is with this being a grownup thing! I thought we were supposed to be able to do what we wanted when we grew up :/

Lost Odyssey is highly worth it, if you wind up with a 360. It's the game I bought mine for, and it's by all the people who left Square when it teamed with Enix, and it's just wonderful charming fun. Though the Palom and Porom redux does make me wish for punching-through-the-TV capability.

I had so many fucking problems with their FF12 guide. Not even for spoilers. Everything was so badly organized, having to flip through the entire book and try to figure out which section a map for an area was in was so damned annoying, among other things.

There was that, too! Brady Games is just a crappy product, seriously. (When I was out of work they had a job posting up, and I thought about it--I really did--but among other things it was in Indianapolis, which is a shithole of a city, and I didn't think I'd make enough of a difference. XD)

What disappointed me even worse was DoubleJump. They advertised a Persona 1 PSP guide heavily, and then never published it.

I guess better to do that than release a shoddy product. There were problems with their P3 and P4 guides but they were pretty minor considering the aggravation that is Brady. A few typos/editing errors, but nothing so massive they were constantly aggravating and unusable, at least.

yeah I like how Brady just outright prints shit that's WRONG. Like how to choose between Luzzu and Gatta. And other such issues.

boo, DoubleJump! :( I liked their P3 and P4 guides, though the P4 guide was quite a bit better. I *really* liked how they handled the ending spoiler for that one.

I never had an issue with Rikku. She evolved past the whole "cute girl" for me as she was actually really intelligent, and her reasons for being in the story (and her relationship with Yuna) I felt was done rather well.

X-2...had some good points. But, yeah...

I was a lot younger when I played FFX, and I just found Rikku really aggravating for some reason. From the later viewpoint of maturity and time I like her rather better. Lulu will always be my favourite though.

I will try! *makes shooing motions at the rain* We got half-drowned here this year; in July, we had a storm that dropped 5" in an hour.

I don't think I could move to a much smaller city. I've always lived in a satellite town to a big city (DC or Chicago.)
