Why I hate shoe shopping

I cannot possibly be the only woman who, when she says she likes high heels, means it. Why is there nothing over 11cm/4in. outside of fetish shops and online? Hell, I'm lucky if I can find 3 in. heels that aren't leopard print or neon green

Market forces, mostly. Stores will only carry what they know the majority want. One of the brands I work for actually does offer some styles in heel heights nearing five inches and such heels may be found in select stores (most are offered online) but they are on the pricey side.

As inconvenient as it is, online is usually the best way to get the true high-heels. eBay is the place I shop for them when I need them for photo shoots as the price, even with shipping, is often less than retailers. Thrift stores have also turned up some nice heels for a very low price...if you don't mind them being used.
