So I go back to the gym today to meet with my trainer. The guy who collapsed last week is on the treadmill like nothing ever happened.I think it shook everybody up but him.

I wne to the gym again on Monday and met with a trainer. I'm trying to get back into some shape the right way. A little over halfway through our session, my trainer jumps up. A man who was exercising about 10 feet away froim us keeled over and collapsed, landing face first. I was sure he was dead of a massive heart attack. He came to eventually, ( Read more... )

I was able to meet up with a guy I met on another site and have emailed back and forth with for some time. We tried to get together before but never succeeded until now. Wow. It was well worth the wait. I think I need more physical therapy from this guy....and I think I need it soon.

I drove over by the shore on Tuesday and rode my bike for a while. Not a long ride, just wanted to feel my ass in the saddle again. It was foggy and cool when I started, but the sun broke through. Hope to continue biking and then do a distance bike ride later on.

Spent much of Sunday in the Gowanus neighborhood of Brooklyn. Nestled between Carroll Gardens and Park Slope, it's home to lots of indie artists. Gentrification is probably a few years off yet, soi it still has a regular feel to it.

It's almost a year since I last posted. I had the robotic prostatectomy on 3-31-11, removing my cancerous prostate. Exams since then show no spread of the cancer. I'm fortunate to be cancer free now, but I'm still dealing with the side effects of these procedures. I spent most of this year in a rotten funk, wallowing in self-pity. Been posting on Flickr but never seem to get around to LJ. Also found out recenty that I have prostate cancer. Bummer. I saw a few doctors and I'm now scheduled to have my prostate removed on 3/31. Went to Joe's Pub in the East Village this week and saw the Webb Sisters. They appeared with Leonard Cohen as his backing vocalists. They were so good, great harmonies and beautiful lyrics. I even got to meet them after the show. They are headed for Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal next week.Cetainly worth catching.

I was stuck in traffic behind a large red and black truck. Normally I wouldn't have paid much attention to the truck, but when I looked up, I saw the logo on the truck was BLACK BEAR. That first caught my eye. The best part was what was written below: QUALITY LUBRICANTS.  And I didn't have my camera.
