Journal Entry: Day 1 of 40

Feb 20, 2010 13:41

So, I am toying with the idea of writing in here every day for Lent. For months, I have been wanting to get back into the habit of writing in this journal, but haven't made it happen. I'm going through a very difficult semester academically, and I think writing in here regularly would be a good outlet (as long as it is not too time consuming). I ( Read more... )

I know a couple people who have in years past selected their Lenten behavior as something to start doing more often or even adopt a different mindset. As long as the outcome is positive for you personally, that has to be just as good for your spiritual side, right?

I definitely wouldn't knock it, because it lets me see how you're doing. =) Not that I'm one to talk, I've posted once since the beginning of the year...

As for your partner, perhaps he's a fiddler? My dad and brother both fail at sitting still; they always have to have something to play with. You should see them in a restaurant, silverware ends up everywhere and every shred of paper is balled up or folded. I don't even think they're aware they're doing it sometimes. Definitely something I've noticed more with guys more than girls.

Thanks Liz! Yeah, I have a lot of things on my mind I have been wanting to write about, plus after that runs out, I'll be forced to be a little more creative.

Actually, I did not realize this until your comment, but the instance of 'fiddling' was actually TWO different project partners, one last semester, one this semester. That's why I noticed the trend. I'll make that clearer. Yep, I guess they both are!

"Silverware ends up everywhere". LOL

Oh, I didn't realize you'd write in HERE each day! Awesome! Will you really be able to write in here while we're in Europe though? ;) *L*

Eh, I think it depends on the person. Personally, I find it to be rude when people do that. Only my close friends can use some of my things and whatnot without my permission since there's a comfort level in there. Heh. So, yeah, maybe it depends on the person.

Yeah! My livejournal has been far too neglected. I think there are even a couple of people from affirming_faith that added me and I haven't written much since they did that.

Actually I could do it while in Europe- but I'd have to write in a paper journal, then type it up later. As a matter of fact, travel journaling is a ton of fun. :)
