I can be very naughty with updating this thing.

Christmas was good this year. It was all rather jumbled up because it was the first Christmas at Mandalay and we couldn't accommodate all the usual guests, so just one of my nanas and my uncle came up. On Christmas Eve we went to the carol service in Weybread Church. The vicar was enormous and jolly ( Read more... )

I LOVE having a beanbag. The pencils I'm still struggling with at the moment.

You know, I'd never actually thought I was lucky to have a creative family before. It's something I've never questioned & taken for granted, though I know I'd miss it if it wasn't there... I think different family members/friends are useful for discussing different kinds of creativity with. I mean, some are more interested in technicalities of art/writing, some in characters and such...

What do your family think about your art, in general? My mum and bro are useful-- my dad's a bit bemused by my drawing! He's much more helpful with writing.

Right, I can only find one of the books I got at present-- not sure where the other is! This book is definitely useful: Dynamic wrinkles and drapery by Burne Hogarth. It's all about folds in clothes and such and is v. useful for medieval type clothes!

There are many yokels here. My parents are going to a party with yokels tomorrow.

I'm randomly reminded: has your sister received a letter yet from Cambridge? They usually send acceptances/pool/rejection letters out around New Year. *crosses fingers*

Do these people know that they're yokels?

She got a rejection letter a couple of days ago. :( Poo. I'm not sure if I'm meant to know that yet though, so shhh. I think she's a bit pissed off how much everyone pushed her to apply when she didn't want to cos she was sure she wasn't going to get in. Poor Emma. :(

No, they don't know that they are yokels. I'm sure they think we're townies though!

Poor Emma! Does she know which uni she is going to go to now? I know the feeling about being pushed to apply-- hope she isn't too cut up about it.
