safety

I'm passing kidney stones. I hate saying that. Passing. It sounds as if all you have to do is step on the gas and swerve around. Believe me, I'm convinced these buggers are clawing their way to stay in my body. I started out what those because I'm going do a political rant. Well, more like a mini-rant. While I agree with you that Bush is running this country into the ground (and as a Texan and a Republican, that's saying a lot, but he really pissed me off with the stem-cell veto) but it most likely didn't start with him. As far as I know, at least Clinton and probably Bush Sr. knew about Bin Laden and his little playground as well. It doesn't look like they paid it any mind either ( ... )

We aren't safer. In fact, as you say, thanks to President Bush, we are making the world a much more dangerous place. However, the most effective "War on Terror" is to live life without the fear of imminent attack. Sure, you can be prepared, but the power of the fear is to make people forget their sense. Make people forget that there are more important things. Make people forget that most people are nice, and are not out to kill, maim, harm you ( ... )

The buck stops here, because the shrub is busily taking it to pass out to his faith-based yesmen. However, as the commenter above said, this year is also an important year. The only problem I have with it is, I'm an independent. I vote person, not party, so this ellection won't really matter much to me, because the most important votes, the local ones, aren't going to be available to me. Still, I do plan to have my say whenever, and wherever I can, and do what I did the last time; hope for the best.

Perfect rant describing a perfect nightmare... anonymous August 31 2006, 00:24:29 UTC
I just have to wonder what it is about people that keeps them so anesthesized that they aren't reeling from all the issues you brought up?

Great rant -

Because critical thought and action require getting off their arses.

LariLee, They don't care because when we've destabilised the world enough to have WWIII break out, it just means the Rapture is a hop, step and a jump away, and Exxon/Mobil, BP, Halliburton Execs, and their political counterparts et al believe they have heavenly skyboxes awaiting from which they will view all their fellow believers marching through the Pearly Gates.
