I'm passing kidney stones. I hate saying that. Passing. It sounds as if all you have to do is step on the gas and swerve around. Believe me, I'm convinced these buggers are clawing their way to stay in my body. I started out what those because I'm going do a political rant. Well, more like a mini-rant. I am so sorry about the kidney stones. I am cheering you on in getting rid of the bastards!

What infuriates me most about the current administration is that they're ingenious in a truly horrible way.

Step 1: Fill all appointed positions with incompetent political hacks.
Step 2: Wait for the inevitable breakdown.
Step 3: When the system breaks down, use it as evidence that big government doesn't work and slash funding social programs.

Ugh. And don't forget their way of discrediting the opposition:

Step 1: Fund a 527 group to make outrageous and untrue claims about your opposition.
Step 2: Wait.
Step 3: Either way you win. If your opponent ignores the libel, he/she isn't denying it. If your opponent defends him/herself, it just makes more headlines with the libelous accusations in it.

A pox on the greedy and a worse pox on the strong-armers.

Okay, off to pound on the piano for a bit. A bit of Beethoven makes everything better!

I cannot possibly put into words how safe I felt Austria. I felt safe as a young person, as a woman, and as an American. No terrorists lurking on public transport, no rapists around every corner. People were respectful of themselves, others, and - generally - their environment.

And I cannot put into words how much I miss all of it. It's very upsetting.

Just as it was said above, people are too lazy to care and I can't stand that. I agree with your concerns and wish people could pry their eyes and asses off of what ever TV show, fast food or pop icon du jour that has their attention, long enough to actually give these things the time and thought they really merit.

I've come to the point where I think that 'we the people' get what we deserve. If the fire that burned in our collective hearts around the last quarter of the Eighteenth Century has died, then Democracy, as we knew it, was just a flash in the pan of human history. La Revolution is dead.

I hate Bush and his administration too. I don't feel safer. The whole Bin Ladin thing never fails to piss me off. The way that the military went about it was purely for show. I don't think that they were even really trying to find him at first. It was a ploy to get Bush re-elected. We'll never catch him now. I knew that after 9/11 he would get re-elected. The whole Iraq thing is bullshit too.

Stem cell research, choice, and real freedom are all going down the tubes with these people in power.

I have a neocon brother too. It's hard sometimes.

LariLee,

You only have 5 days before you are going to be removed from the PI directory! I noticed that on the community page...

Just in case you were wondering...

Thank you, lady_laurelin, but I decided a few months back to drop out of the PI directory. I appreciate the heads up though!
