HI, LARI-------- wait

omg tell me more about cleric/mermaid, fldkgh;alkg;a it is true that I was paying more attention to that than Jack/Angelica, possibly because the movie just flung Jack/Angelica at us and then didn't really do much of anything with it after the initial burst of revelations (and didn't really mean to do much with it, either, I suspect). And also cleric/mermaid was sort of... well by the time he was shouting "SHE HAS A NAME!!" I was cringing with secondhand embarrassment, I mean JUST A DOLLOP OF ORIGINALITY IS ALL WE ASK FOR, MOVIE, if you are going to tread this incredibly well-worn route without adding anything to it, then what is even the point of treading it altogether! Not to mention, the mermaids are totally hot as they are supposed to be, but maaaaan is this a man's movie or whatttt. I think mostly I spent the whole movie being starry-eyed over Barbossa *______*

It was so ridiculous and obvious what they were doing and yet I was mesmerized, Ifrit! I think it's because the scenes with the mermaids were just SO COOL that the mystique sort of rubbed off on Philip and Serena. Sailor bold! heeeee :p I think I enjoyed watching their ~inner turmoil~ and how they were both struggling against themselves. And they were both BAMFy, Philip with his lightning quick Bible (ahaha) and Serena with her IRON EMOTIONS. Also, asdfjkasjdf what do you think happened at the end?? I spent a good 15 min discussing that with my sister. So as not to spoil anyone who happens to glance at this, I'll just send you an email instead. XD Oh Barbossa! He was such a boss! <3

Stealing Harry 'verse is great. Sam wound up leaving off on the fics after a while, but he was nice enough to post whatever scenes and summaries of things he had in mind so that readers would know where he was planning to eventually get to. :)

I have some other fics in my delicious account, which were copied over from my LJ memories. Not all of them are D/G. :D

Yes! I was so thankful that he did that! It was an absolute joy to read. :)

Yay! When I get back, I'll definitely take a stroll through your delicious. ;) Thanks!

Re: Brothers Bloom FTW! laria_gwyn June 7 2011, 15:55:30 UTC
I KNOW RIGHT? What was that, John Cusack? UGH

It really wasn't that awful but it had some story problems. I loved the action scenes (which is why I wanted to see it in theaters) but I can't say it was a terrific movie, sadly.

Thanks, bb!

I missed it while I was watching the movie but someone on my FL showed me his cameo in gif form. XD AWESOME.

I love your recs and I almost laughed out loud at the Stealing Harry one, because it's one of my favorite fics of all time. Just read everything ever by copperbadge, especially Cartographer's Craft and anything that is about the Marauders.
