End-of-week round-up

Jan 11, 2016 01:22

It's been quite an up-and-down week.

If I do the negative side first, to get it out of the way, the big one which massively outweighs any other would be the drama with A on Thursday ( Cut for anyone who doesn't want to read about medical dramas, even with a happy ending )

conspicuous consumption, work, tv, life stuff, films

Eek, that must have been terrifying for both of you :(
Here's hoping there's no recurrence any time soon (or preferably ever).

Some Kind of Wonderful is a fab :)

I'm struggling to think of any experience I've had previously which has been as frightening to me. I held it together while it was happening, because there were things I had to do, but I was in bits later that day, once I was free to collapse with the relief. (A has his white water rafting near-drowning story, of course, which tops last week's events for him...)

NHS Choices suggests he has about a 50% chance of a recurrence in the next five years, but I guess it won't be *quite* so scary if it happens again, as at least we'll know what it is.

I think it's going to be retro film month, as I recorded 'Footloose' off the telly last night. I've not seen that one in *years* :)
