Well, Sherlock fandom seems to be going down in flames. *watches it hit the water* Remains to be seen if there will be any survivors. ...oh good god. I swear, it's Tumblr that does it...it's the mix of young inexperienced fans, vicious trolls, and absolutely no way to moderate anything. Makes for utter disasters. Sometimes I can enjoy it in a trainwreck way, but lately there's been so much awful stuff that I'm just tired.

Ugh, and this is why I am happily sitting with my <150 blogs I follow and probably 1/3 of those (or more) are purely image blogs or LJ comm update blogs. I just can't be bothered. And seriously, we all know I'm a slasher- I slash, therefore I am- but for crying out loud, it's my preference and that may not, nor does it have to be, the preference of someone else. And it doesn't mean there needs to be animosity. I mean, my best-friend and I have stuff like that, I'm not even gonna dignify it with calling it an issue 'cause it's not, we're both die hard slashers, but back in the day she was a Spuffy, still is, while I'm a confirmed Spander, and it's just one of those things we tease each other about. And it's not just that, but that's the big shippy one.
Anyway, just sayin' ppl are asses and I'm glad I've managed to miss this exciting turn of events, so far.

*nods* I've never understood people getting worked up enough over fandom to dish abuse, let alone racism and misogyny. I'm staying way, way out of it.

I am glad I left this fandom. There's some great fic in it but between moffatt and the constant cases of fans behaving badly, I just couldn't anymore.

Luckily, I've avoided a lot of that on my dash. I do have onne lady who can't stand the character of Mary, but her opinions and arguments are well-reasoned, so I generally applaud her posts. Even though I'm not in the fandom. But, well, osmosis, y''know. I'm not in Dr Who fandom, either, or SPN, but I see a ton of posts on Tumblr (and, in the olden days, in LJ's heyday, on LJ) about those fandoms/showws, so you pick up stuff, unwittingly. *g*

"Nappy-haired"??? Wow. Dude. Your racism is showing. Also, hell, WHY? You don't like it, just ignore. Get off Tumblr for a few days till the posting frenzy changes to another subject. That's what I do. How hard is that? Sheesh, peoples.
