well, sh*t

There's no way to delete a "book" from Goodreads that I can see. I've sent them a note asking them to remove it. If that doesn't work, I guess I'll have no choice but to remove it from AO3.

I love the consideration and careful thought that went into this stunt.

26 pieces, fans behaving badly, goodreads, this is not a real book

Rather than deleting, you can also privacy-lock the story on AO3, so only registered users can read it? (good luck getting it pulled from the site, though...I wonder if this is a unique thing, or if there might be a bunch of fic up there...?)

It's not unique. There is a bunch of fanfic / adult fanfic.net / etc stories up there. A very well-known SPN MPREG series is featured on the site.

Evidently it's a trend. A trend that scares me sh*tless, because I do not want the BBC knocking on my door, thankyouverymuch. I locked the story on AO3 once I calmed down a bit. Is it wrong to long for the days when slash was kept under the table and you had to be vouched for to read it? *g*

To have a book removed, simply post a request in the Librarians forum: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1302554-please-delete-this-book-pt-19-anyone-requests-leave-deletions-for

They're usually very quick with requests. I've had my book requests for additions / deletions taken care of in a matter of hours.

Oh, thank you so much! I can't tell you how unnerving I find this. I guess I'm just too old-school for fandom these days. :)

Well, this is a very scary development. I sure wouldn't want one of my fanfic novels to show up on a public place like that. Good luck in having it removed.
