Yeah, my take on it, after listening to the NPR coverage all morning is:
Am I glad he's dead? You bet. Sorry to rejoice in the death of another human being, but Mr. Helene was in Manhattan on Sept. 11, (thankfully OK) and you don't let go of that shit easily.
Unfortunately, I don't think anyone with sense really believes that this means (as I heard on NPR this morning from one of the people at ground zero) that "the war is over."
On the OTHER other hand, clear cut victories in this conflict are few and far between, and I'm going to enjoy the morale boost while we've got it. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
Yes, this. Morale boosts and breathers should be taken when offered. I would love this war to be over, but it would take even a more naïve soul than me to believe that it is.
