tvd - recap & tweets!

When I first watched The Vampire Diaries S02E21, I was gobsmacked and had so much to say about it. Then, due to real life, I didn't have my reaction post. Today, I thought, I can't recap an episode that isn't fresh in my head, so I'll watch it again. I've found I have less to say now than before -- my fangirl irrationality has sort of dissapated ( Read more... )

I agree with the understanding of Elijah's actions because a man of his character really cares for his family and 'my word' means something, even if it is coming from your crazed half brother. I don't hate on him for that.

I cried to hard for Jer and Elena in this episode, to lose both your parents and now your aunt? Heartbreaking.

I really hope we don't get left on a cliffhanger over the Damon/wolfbite situation, though knowing this show that is the most likely scenario. I feel safe in the knowledge that they CAN'T kill Damon, because he is one of the three most important characters and although I have not read the books yet, he is pretty essential in the whole story.

CLIFF HANGER IS A NO NO. though no doubt that is exactly what we will get! :/ i was really confident about damon not dying, and now i just don't know. i'm so excited/apprehensive/nervous about tomorrow!

I think the key to this issue lies in the scene where they first explain it and Damon calls John on the 'God mumbo jumbo'. John calls it a soul because he believes that vampires are monsters. But when Damon calls him on it, he concedes that it could also be called 'mystical energy'.

Basically the spell uses the parent's life force to retrieve the child's life force and bind it back to the child's body. So the child gets back its own life force, healing the body, but the effort uses up the parent's life force so they die.

the way you explained the jenna situation is definitely superb. as interesting as it would have been to see jenna cope... still, part of me is like, 'WHY SHOW?' even though there is valid reason. i'm still upset, can't you tell!

do people know jenna's dead? I THOUGHT ABOUT THAT. there was like, ~no one at that funeral, and we all know there would have been more people there for jenna :/ i'm kind of confused about that too.

well, in reference to that, it was more how much i loved her bamfness. not so much her reasoning. i mean, fair's fair yes. alaric should have been able to make his own decisions.

Quite a few things, that I had missed, some that I hadn't even given a thought, how do you manage that? lol)))
Loved Damon-Elena interaction but was absolutely devastated by Jenna's death. All serious reasons aside, I love the actress, losing her hurts me((
And, yeah, poor Damon, hope he gets some reward. And John, for all his being nasty the whole time...I liked the selfless thing he did. Jeremy's aloofness in mentioning John's gonna die seemed a bit out of place, to my mind, even though I know how much Jeremy "loved" his dearest uncle.
Btw, thanks for that season one look-back, no, drop-back? erm, whatever that thing with looking back and remembering things is called, I'm just a stupid foreigner, my appologies))) Anyway, the coming finale calls for a re-watch =)

Maybe, they would revive her...

Hehe, thanks)) I get stuck looking for proper words sometimes)

I wish I had time enough now to rewatch right now, but that'll have to wait (not for too long, I hope) =)

I agree with you about Jenna; it feels like the only reason they killed her was to be shocking. I mean, Klaus went out of the way to find Jenna and turn her, rather than instead use an available vampire (he could have gone for Katherine, if his plan to sacrifice Caroline fell through. Or he could he gotten Stefan, who was there when he went to get Elena, if he wanted to punish Damon through Elena for messing up his original plan). He said he’d rather sacrifice a female vampire rather than a male, so, okay, why did he have Isobel kill herself, then? He already had a female vampire compelled and in his pocket, why didn’t he use her? The writers still could have gotten Isobel and Elena bonding over what a bad parent she’s been, and Isobel could still try to eat Greta to save Elena. It feels like the writers went out of their way to kill Jenna, like they killed her off simply to be shocking ( ... )

devinecancerian did post a pretty good reason for that one, but i still feel the, 'why, show why?!' I WANTED ISOBEL/ELENA BONDING SO MUCH. WORDS CANNOT EVEN DESCRIBE. I WANTED THIS KATHERINE/ISOBEL/ELENA BONDING EXERCISE WHERE THEY WERE ALL PART OF THE SAME BLOODLINE AND THAT ~MEANT SOMETHING TO THEM.

KLAUS IS NOT DEAD AND THAT MEANS EVERYTHING WAS ALL FOR NOTHING AND WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH KLAUS NEXT SEASON, NOOOOOO. THESE ARE MY THOUGHTS. this whole 'season of the originals' shit is kind of interesting and kind of not :/

the spell really came out of nowhere. maybe some foreshadowing would have been nice. maybe. i don't know. it just felt to out of the blue and random and such an ~out.

THE LOVE FOR MY OT3 KNOWS NO BOUNDS. STEFAN WILL SAVE DAMON -- HE HAS TO. MY BROTHERS ♥

All your thoughts. All of them.

Now, in saying that, I still don't really see how she ~had to die? You know? Was it really absolutely crucial for them to kill her off?

Total word. It just feels lazy to me. They could have tried to develop her, but well, now they won't have to. *rolls eyes*

Though she was a character I quite liked in the sense she was like an alpha female and wasn't going to tolerate Damon no matter what (because I think sometimes it is nice to see a woman who isn't afraid of chaining Damon Salvatore to a chair and torturing him) and I felt she was decent shift in the show's women.

Haha, no, IA. And am once again rolling my eyes that she was killed off too.

But this also leads to a question of, 'is the soul/life essence going to be a more significant idea in TVD?'

I hope not, because those arguments drove me crazy in Buffy/Angel fandom. I'd rather go with the 'life force' idea suggested above.

I can't explain it because I'm shitty like that, but I remember early in Season One where Damon turned to Elena and ( ... )

I MUST ADMIT, THE SHOW IS ALL UP ON KILLING PEOPLE, NO DOUBT.

if this ends up like an angel/buffy thing i might cry. not like i didn't like that in btvs, but it's been ~done before, and if tvd brought that in i'd be like .... okay. great.

BRING ON TOMORROW, JFC.
