A lot of people aren't doing very well right now, because of the marks. [Nor is he if someone has a good ear for that sort of strain and carefully light sort of tone. Or just knows him too well.] It's not always like this, but it doesn't make it much better.
It's not very fair.
[A breath, and it's the steadying sort.] Whatever anyone decides to do-

And here I had his pirate costume all ready for him. [Joking]

And... IT IS EVERYTHING TO BE ASHAMED OF YES but he rationalized himself into a corner with Lenalee so. Not really, either.
Sob it's complicated.]

Well. It's generally his intended coping mechanism.] It's different every time for the most part.

You're all potty-mouths. I hope you know that. But he hasn't managed to do that for himself yet.]
Well...what happened odd last time instead of the pain?

Um.
He finds ways to cope no matter what always, alright. Even if it stretches his sanity like silly putty. This place has corrupted him further...] Ah, one of them-Eliora, she took away senses if people didn't obey. Some people couldn't speak, others couldn't see. [Like him. Ironic much.]
[It's that sort of tone where he's probably scratching at his cheek and smiling a little awkwardly.] -it's something like that every few weeks it seems. Sometimes the locals cast something on people with marks, too.

Potty mouth. Everything that's supposed to not be talked about in public suddenly is. It's disorienting and really it shouldn't be considering that he's been through taverns and dark places with little care for civil rules in past records but these are his friends that he had thought were a little more civilized than that. What if - heaven forbid - Timothy showed up! ...Granted he was a boob-grabber anyway. You're all corrupted as you adapt.]
I remember Sam talking about her. Says she's probably behind this as well. But so long as they're not all painful like this I think I can manage.
...Charming lot, aren't they?

... It's better now that he is around. Just so very, very exasperating at times as well.
And bodily hazardous.]

Actually, it's embarrassing, but it's sad, too. And it hasn't occurred, maybe blissfully, to Allen yet that Timothy could show up because-well how unthinkable even. If there was anything to turn a thin toleration and frustration into full righteous fury... Not that it hasn't been that at times, too.
But what is civilized then, Lavi? He's had girls puppydog after him here asking him if sex hurts and would he please talk to them, he's the least intimidating nonvirgin they know. Oh god. So yes, he's gotten used to (he tries not to, he really tries to sidestep it because he's hardly the most helpful on the matter and would rather bolt and run) talking about things he'd normally love to cram back into a dusty corner of his mind and never consider because really, what's it ever have to do with him anyway. And maybe it's been a little too easy to... slip like that.
But if it helps make it easier for the people that are scared because of that, that would drown in shame and fear and become more bitter... He hates that this ( ... )

...Funny how it always creeps into his tone.] But we all manage somehow.

[At least it would be an ideal sort of goal. Cross would probably drag them all out on it and make them climb rat-lines and swab the poop-deck. :| Lavi refuses to be on a boat regardless, not his favorite memories, he gets sea-sick at first until he gets his sea-legs.
Maybe they best keep him land-locked anyway.
Allen just has one of those faces/personalities that it's hard for a scared girl to ignore, not all of them go after the dark and mysterious types. They want someone who will be gentle the first time around and are there really a lot of guys like that in this place.
Just try to keep in mind your well-traveled friend over here is not used to this, either from you or from anyone else. So he'll be shocked for a while and wonder if he's surrounded by doppelgangers. And he'll ultimately be shoving his head in the sand beside yours.]Might be that they don't like the way things are ( ... )

Just without Cross being the slave-driver captain.]

Then they go for someone like his master.
What is his life.
Oh well. He'll pass you a straw for that sand and they can both half-suffocate in peace at least.
... And Allen would probably be a little thrown off balance to actually look at himself and realize the difference in himself-the differences in all of them-as well.
Sorry, Lavi.] No, they clearly disagree on what to do with us.
-not that anyone seems to really think to just let us go home.

[Plainly enough? It's Lavi directing this talk. You should know better.
They'd be the chain gang underneath the deck.
Well. Maybe then he'd get lucky. Lavi anyway. You're the nice straight!gay friend. He's kinda mysterious with the patch. But yeah, Cross probably would get first dibs.
Mirrors of their past selves should pop up. And be all horrified. It'd be funny.]
We'll go home eventually, yeah? Have to. We got a world to save.
Reply
-but it's nice to be able to joke like this.]
We will. [And all that will bring.] We've gotten through worse, haven't we?

Much worse. If we can get through zombies then this shouldn't be too hard.
