A lot of people aren't doing very well right now, because of the marks. [Nor is he if someone has a good ear for that sort of strain and carefully light sort of tone. Or just knows him too well.] It's not always like this, but it doesn't make it much better.

Actually, it's embarrassing, but it's sad, too. And it hasn't occurred, maybe blissfully, to Allen yet that Timothy could show up because-well how unthinkable even. If there was anything to turn a thin toleration and frustration into full righteous fury... Not that it hasn't been that at times, too.
But what is civilized then, Lavi? He's had girls puppydog after him here asking him if sex hurts and would he please talk to them, he's the least intimidating nonvirgin they know. Oh god. So yes, he's gotten used to (he tries not to, he really tries to sidestep it because he's hardly the most helpful on the matter and would rather bolt and run) talking about things he'd normally love to cram back into a dusty corner of his mind and never consider because really, what's it ever have to do with him anyway. And maybe it's been a little too easy to... slip like that.
But if it helps make it easier for the people that are scared because of that, that would drown in shame and fear and become more bitter... He hates that this even has to come up at all, but it's the situation, and sometimes talking about it in certain ways when trying to help people when it's especially hard is better than utterly shoving his head in the sand. (Allen just stands in his Ignore and Abstain corner when it comes to himself.)
It's just that everything has been turned on its head a little, morally speaking. Although somehow it's not even so much about Allen being prudish.
...Not that he doesn't rather-fail in a lot of ways at it, too. Because he'd very much like to put his head in the sand on some things as much as he can, too.

They seem to fight among themselves a lot.
