nightshift ; room A10

Rei hadn't left her room much. Actually, she hadn't left her room at all. She spent the most of the day lying on her bed, staring up blankly at the ceiling, trying not to sleep. If she slept, she would be back in that horrible mansion .. no. She wouldn't allow that. Letting out a soft sigh, Rei sat up, rubbing her eyes with her palms. Well, this ( Read more... )

The idea of going to the sun room hadn't lasted too long. Sure, he'd meant to go and take up the subtle invitation he'd been offered, but there wasn't really any guarantee of things panning out in this place--so he discovered. After a little while of being tucked away in his room, the staff found it reasonable that he stay there for some reason or another. Probably for observation since he was acting so strange. Needless to say what he thought about that.

Even his friend was acting less than.. normal; going on about how they were planning to escape and giving him that look of disappointment when he admitted not remembering a thing. 'We were planning to escape...' He thought to himself, sitting up from his bed. ' Escaping....' Don't suppose a raft would do the trick this time. 'Escape from where? Why. How..just...' He could stay in his room trying to sort out what he'd learned so far, or the alternative of getting it from someone else---He didn't really care for either option very much. Riku, being Riku, liked doing and seeing ( ... )

Rei had let out a surprised gasp when she heard the footsteps of someone coming, and for a terrifying moment, wondered if it was Reika coming to get her once more. Much to her relief, it wasn't Reika. Hell, this girl didn't even look like she had tattoos. All the better. Blinking in surprise, Rei looked at the blonde haired girl, wonder filling her. " You were released too? What's going on here? Where are we? And why is everything -- " and just then, she heard more footsteps.

She sucked in her breath when the flashlight was pointed towards her and the new girl, and she squinted her eyes, lifting a hand to block out the light. " .. Where did you get that flashlight? "

This was too much like the Manor of Sleep. Already Rei was loathing this place.

Shaking her head, the black haired woman turned towards her door, opening and closing the door in silent movements. " .. My door was just unlocked .. I don't understand why. "

Maybe he was being a little quiet, but startling the both of them like that hadn’t been intentional. That blonde seemed a little too jumpy to simply blame it on him sneaking up on her. Even so,he tried to apologize for it, “Didn’t mean to scare you.” Since it was pretty obvious they were attendants or anything, Riku lowered his flashlight and let the light rest on the walkway between the two girls and himself.

A shrug rolled of the boys shoulders, “If all of our doors were just unlocked, it’s probably not a coincidence. Doesn’t make much sense but I’m not gonna complain.” Not much of a conclusion, but hey, if they were out of their rooms then things were starting to look up!

A flashlight? Under her pillow? Rei was shocked. She didn't notice it before .. was it truely there? Moving back into her bedroom, she reached under her pillow -- and voila. Pulling her hand back, she looked down, surprised to see the small black flashlight sitting there in her palm as if it had been there all along. Shaking her head, she wondered for a moment how she hadn't noticed it. Ah, well .. she could think about that later ( ... )

A belated explanation, as this was, didn’t come as surprising. After facing down heartless and creatures of darkness he found that amazingly little made it onto his ‘shocked’ list. Instead, he found himself sighing from this newly protruding bit of information. “Monsters, huh.” Wasn’t that just icing on the cake. Thoughts of worry shouldn’t have even crossed his mind considering his friends-Both Sora and Kairi, could hold their own. Some old habits never ceased, and seeds of worry planted themselves ( ... )

Rei turned towards Riku and smiled, nodding her head towards him. " Nice to meet you, Riku. You as well, Elena. " The older woman couldn't help but smile at the pigtailed girl. She was so much younger than herself .. or, at least, she looked that way. Shaking her head, Rei looked down at her flashlight once again, her grip on the said object tightening slightly.

This time, she wouldn't allow herself to be eaten up by the darkness.

Turning back to her two new "friends", Rei tilted her head to the side, looking beyond them, pointing her flashlight down the blackened hallway. " What should we do now? Standing in one single place isn't always safe .. " her voice came out a low rumble, not wanting to be heard by anything around them that might possibly want them dead. Then again, she knew what it was like being wanted dead, so she really wasn't very surprised with this bit of information. She only didn't want such young children to be hurt. After all, they still had their entire lives ahead of them.

And her, well ..

She had nothing.

When he was finally supplied with both their names, the islander boy nodded to both Rei and Elena in acknowledgment of each.

Staying in one place wasn’t a smart idea, “Neither is wandering around.” Riku added to Rei’s advice. He didn’t claim to know much, or anything, about this place, but they couldn’t wander blindly through halls at night and hope to have a chance of evading any monsters. Riku had good luck up until this point since he hadn’t encountered anything like this girl mentioned, that was if she was telling the truth.[He still had his doubts about the mental capacity of everyone in this place.]

“If all the doors unlock at night like you said,” He gestured to the pigtailed girl, “Then maybe you both can get out. All the doors means the exit, too, right?” Doubtful that it hadn’t been thought of before, but it was something to aim for. If they couldn’t find some way out, then some sort of secluded room would do. “..and the doctors rooms, too.” He added after a pause. Maybe they could get records of what this place ( ... )

That sounded like a good idea. Staying in one place never ended well. Nodding her head, she suddenly realized that Riku has said " you two ", clearly not including himself. " What about you? It's not safe for any of us. If we can escape, it would be better for all of us to do so instead of leaving someone behind. " Of course, Elena then commented about going outside. All right. Staying inside would mean that she would have to memorize what the entire place looked like. Wouldn't be too hard, after all. That way, she would be able to find out where to hide, or where was safe.

" .. Secluded room .. hmm .. " Turning her head left and right, Rei wondered where they could go that would keep them safe. She didn't want to pick somewhere to go .. in case that she accidently led them somewhere that would get them hurt. That wouldn't sit very well with her.

" .. So. Where to? Anywhere is fine with me as long as we can start to move .. "

The choice of a secluded room seemed to win the popular vote from the three of them-some place safe with a clear in and out. If they wanted to find places that were locked up nice and safe, he might as well escort them back to their rooms. [It raised the question to why they left their rooms in the first place, but who was he to judge.] “So a secluded room it is.” He wasn’t planning to stay with them if that was the destination. He couldn’t let Sora find out he’d hidden away in a room at night while his friend searched for a way out. Aside from that, how were they supposed to accomplish anything during the daytime with nurses escorting them by hand ( ... )
