Peter Bishop: the loveliest fellow you're not speaking to at the moment

Dec 04, 2010 22:51

I have been meaning to talk about this since the news broke - Fringe to move to Friday nights. I'm sure all that can be said has been: Friday is where shows go to die, but The X-Files survived there, and Fringe is so X-Files it hurts. In a good way. I have heard the ratings are not great, which is astounding to me. It is a brilliant show, and ( Read more... )

I will be so disapointed it Fringe gets canceled. It is such a brilliant show, and each of the characters is great. Why aren't people watching *cries*

I don't understand the lack of ratings, myself, but I have already threatened to break up with FOX if they cancel Fringe.

I too will miss other Broyles and his tight shirts. I knew he was done week before when her let her go home. He was such a good man. Peter has to realize what he felt for Fauxlivia he only felt because he thought it was our Olivia. Fauxlivia may have had feelings but I still don't like her. I believe that the Othersiders are not bad people but that they have a different perception of events and they truly believe that our team means them harm. Ok walternate might just be evil, but not the rest of them.

The writers do an excellent job of not turning the two universes into a simple good guy vs. bad guy scenario. We see that the alternate universe is comprised mainly of people who just want to keep their world safe. I always think this sort of story is really interesting when done well, because of the obvious parallels to the real world outside of TV Land. Walternate is tricky. He wanted Peter back, but it seems like he wanted him back for his own purposes, i.e. to build the machine. I wonder if it is an ego thing - our Walter could save his son, where he could not. (Damn, pronouns get confusing when there are two universes involved!) Other Brandon is definitely evil, though. When he asked about cutting out parts of Olivia to keep for research, because he only had to replace her mass to send her back, I was like, "Man, I really do not like this version of this guy."

KIM. You're the only person I know who actually use their tags on LJ and watches Fringe so I've been creeping your backlogs again like I did with SYTYCD hahaha.

I've spent the whole weekend watching and have gone from disc 3 of season 2 through Estrada and OMG. Omg omg omg I can already tell I'm going to spend the rest of my day sobbing over the remaining episodes, Olivia is going to be SO UPSET when she finds out that Peter didn't know Fauxlivia was a fake! And Peter is already so mad at himself! And poor Other Brooooyles omg.

However I will say that I was SO HAPPY to see Kirk Acevedo back for awhile!!! After he died I went on hiatus from season 2 because he was my favourite and I wanted to watch other things. I love Charlie so much, he's my favourite.

WHERE IS JOHN NOBLE'S EMMY?

*laughs* Yes, I am a blog dork. I enjoy tags, perhaps a bit too much.

The direction the writers have taken with the whole Fauxlivia storyline has me giving them a bit of the ol' side-eye, but I have decided that I trust they know what they're doing. "Marionette" (when Olivia finds out) is one of the best episodes of tv I've seen in a while, and yes, I wibbled quite a bit and did this embarrassing flail-y thing with my hands. (I get very attached to my tv shows and their characters.) I loved Other Broyles a lot. :(

Charlie is fun. If you haven't seen it already, I highly recommend The Black Donnellys. It was a dark, extremely well-done (imo), but short-lived NBC drama. Kirk Acevedo is terrific in it, and the rest of the cast is quite strong as well. I'm still waiting for someone to write a resolution to the last episode. Cliffhangers on cancelled shows should be against the law or something.

RE: John Noble. This is what I'm saying. Somebody ought to write a letter.
