gonna be a long summer

Looking around at all the Leafs news this morning, I can see that this is where things are going to get ugly. I'm not saying that changes don't need to be made, because obviously they do; it's just that some of what is being said breaks my heart.

JFJ kind of sucks; also, I am ridiculous )

Oh I'll be looking forward to the soundtrack.

They'll talk to Maurice again, don't worry lol. Plus they'll talk to him over the summer anytime the Leafs make any moves. (ex: contract signing, new player, healthy Peca, JFJ getting fired, etc.)

I remember last season, by August I was ready to kill myself because I couldn't wait any longer for more hockey. This season I played it smart. I bought the Hockey: A People's History book during the season and I'm putting off reading it until the summer. Plus, I already had the book The Tipping Point, and decided to put that one off until the summer as well since Maurice said it was a good book, so that's another little hockey tie-in. I know that one is small, but in September, I'll be desperate and consider it very hockey related lol. Man I wish I had Leafs TV.

They're playing his post-Isles vs. Devils game interview from yesterday on Leafs TV right now, and he's awesome, but sad. I want to give him a big damn hug. He was talking about how there's a lot of stuff he won't be able to comment on for three weeks or more. He said, "I'll be here. I'm not going anywhere. You can call me." Hee.

Hockey books. This is a brilliant plan. Amazon.ca, here I come.

Oh man, WHAT'S THE NUMBER PAUL? I have many things i'd like to discuss. Including the pinstripe suit issue.

I was thinking of ordering more hockey books, I'll see how long those two last me first.

*laughs* I was wondering the same thing. Fashion intervention!

Actually, I'd like to talk to him about taking over the job of the guy who says, "Okay. One more question." during the media scrums. My husband was saying I'd be too disruptive in that role. "That's a stupid question. Paul, you don't have to answer that one."

My business associates ask me, my step kids ask me, my brothers and sisters - all the same question - who are you supporting now that The Leafs are gone. My answer - The Leafs - there is no other team. It's time to think about who to draft, whether JFJ should go (I say Yes) or not, free agents that are available, etc. It is not time to watch any other hockey - hockey is done in my world. The quest begins again in October just like it has for 40 years. If I must wait through another 40, so be it. I bleed blue and white.
