gonna be a long summer
Looking around at all the Leafs news this morning, I can see that this is where things are going to get ugly. I'm not saying that changes don't need to be made, because obviously they do; it's just that some of what is being said breaks my heart.
I stayed up until 11:30 last night (bit past my bedtime) to see if there was any reaction to the Islanders' win on SportsCentre, and all I got was John Ferguson Junior and his damn cold robotic droning, and a bunch of elated Islanders. (And, hey, why shouldn't they be happy? Good for them, man. Dubie is actually sort of cute, did you know?) Nobody owes me (or any other member of Leafs Nation) anything, but I feel really ripped off just the same. I just want one more Paul Maurice soundbyte. Something to get me through the summer. I'm selfish like that.
I'm sure, though, that in the coming weeks/months more will be said than I care to hear.
I've decided to do the Best Of post some time this week. I've gathered lots of photographs. It will be fun. :)
Scott has today off. I wish I did. Screw you, Monday.
