Went to my parents' house yesterday to pick up some stuff and hopefully attend a 5-year-old's birthday party; the party was cancelled and it ended up being too much crap to bring home in one trip anyway. For similar reasons (I assume), Quinceañera happens to be airing on Out TV here in Canada tonight. ;)

Is it still called Quinceañera up there? Because according to Wikipedia, the movie is called Echo Park, LA in the UK, which cracks me up because usually it's over here in the US where stuff gets retitled (e.g. The Boat That Rocked -> Pirate Radio).

Canada is an unusual situation when it comes to titles.

For most movies, we will have the blanket North American title (and edit), so it was in fact Pirate Radio which I saw in the cinema a few weeks ago.

On the flip side, we retained Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone for both the book and film, with the British or "International" edit of each (to use the Americentric terminology ;)).

Then again, this award-winning bestseller had its potentially incendiary title changed to Someone Knows My Name when it was published in the United States.
