Finally read Giant-Size Astonishing X-Men last night.

So hey, Joss, that big world-saving plan? Yeah, that might have been really great if I hadn't seen it on Stargate SG-1 twice already. Maybe even three times.

It had to take place after Civil War because of Spider-Man's one-off line about "You get this many big guns in one room not civilly warring..."

So I have no clue when the hell the story takes place. Before Secret Invasion but after Civil War, but before Messiah Complex?

Whedon lost me at Breakworld. The Danger storyline was crap as well, but I was willing to give him another chance since his run started well enough. Alas, Breakworld was just as bad and boring. After the first couple issues, I had to say "ciao" to the whole thing.
