I was wondering. Is anyone here particularly faithful? And by 'faithful', I, of course, mean devout or religious. I would be interested in discussion the idea of faith and how it differs from world to world.

I answered your question. Should have asked a better one.

I was aiming for intelligent conversation about theology, not simple answers.

Uhm... I used to be Catholic. Does that count?

Of course. Is there a particular reason you are no longer devout?

[She doesn't sound accusing at all; more like intrigued.]

[He pauses to think, because no one's really asked him before.]

Well... my mom used to take me. Uh, to church. But when my aunt took custody of my brother and me, I guess I just stopped going. My mom was a little... crazy? About things like religion. It didn't, uh... didn't really give me a good feeling about it.

Oh, uhm, sorry, that was probably more than you wanted.

No! It's actually exactly along the lines of what I'm looking for. The primary objective was to learn if other people were religious. The secondary objective was to learn what faith they practice/practiced, and the tertiary objective was to inquire further about choices.

I understand why you might be put off by Catholicism. As a child, I was devoutly Catholic, but as I grew, I began to question what I was taught. In the time I grew up in, that is absolutely unheard of.

Most mortals take their religion too seriously, do they not? Putting their complete trust in an idea of a God that has become convoluted over time through it's many adaptations and renderings? It seems mad to me.

I'm not particularly religious, but there are many gods and goddesses in my homeworld. If you wish, I would like to take part in this discussion.

I would love to hear about the religion of your home world.

I hope to hear about your world as well. But first, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Chelle Vierren, though most call me Vie.

Isabella Maria Carmen dela Vega. It is a pleasure, Vie. I would be more than happy to share of my own religious views.

Um... there are a lot of religions back home but, I don't follow any of them.

Ah. May I ask why? You do not have to answer if you do not wish. I am merely hoping to start a theological discussion about religion, to get a better understanding of the belief systems of other worlds.

... because robots don't have souls according to a lot of them.

If you don't mind, would you be willing to tell me a little about it?

I don't mind but I also don't know much 'bout it. I know there's a guy named Mar, in fact, he's on this ship right now. Just ask him.
