After that day Nino didn’t left his house much, preferring to play his games most of the time instead of hanging out with his friends. Jun and him had been writing and calling each other almost every day but for Nino it wasn’t enough, he felt cheated, how can love appear like that just to be taken away from him so quickly. Of course he tried to sound optimistic when he talked to Jun, but he was starting to get bitter.
One week before school started Ohno came to his house and dragged him out to meet Aiba and Sho. As soon as he sat down, Aiba was the first to talk.
“Nino-chan, you look so sad” trust Aiba to say the obvious.
“And skinny” added Ohno with a frown.
“Yeah, we’re worried about you Nino-chan and so is Jun-kun”
“How would you know?” Nino said in a spiteful tone.
“Because he told me” Sho was looking directly at Nino “He called me and said you sounded forced and asked me to check on you”
“He didn’t say anything to me!”
“Because he’s just guessing, he doesn’t know that you don’t call your friends, that you become some kind of hermitage that apparently doesn’t eat much!”
Nino lowered his head starting to feel ashamed for worrying his friends and even his boyfriend in the distance.
“Nino” Sho continued in a softly “He’s doing his best there, can’t you do the same for him here?”
“I’m sorry” Nino muttered.
“Don’t be; just be yourself again Nino-chan, that’s what we want!” Aiba said excitingly.
Nino nodded with a small smile and appreciation in his eyes for his three best friends.
After that they talked about smaller things like school and friends. Aiba and Sho acted normally but avoided too look much at each other in embarrassment of a fail relationship maybe; however to Nino it wasn’t a fail, they all had grown up so much in just a few months and earned a friendship that hopefully will last for years. Even Ohno had change a little, he talks more and he is darker.
That night he called Jun to assured him that he’ll stop mopping around and that he’ll also do his best, for them. They finished their conversation as they normally did.
“Love you, Jun-pon”
“Love you, Kazu”
Now, it’s been almost four months since Jun left. In school, Nino is always with Aiba, Ohno and a new guy called Ikuta Toma who tugs alone most of the time. He’s kind of dorky with a beautiful smile “Aiba’s less annoying version” was Nino’s description to Jun. He liked the guy as he was good in baseball and sometimes he clings to him just to piss off Aiba.
As Sho studies in other school they mostly see him on the weekends but they’re still close friends. However, during exams Sho doesn’t leave his house or the library and is always walking with a book in his hand. It’s not wonder Nino started calling him “nerdy boy” instead of his actual name.
Jun keeps calling, and Nino mostly texts “Is cheaper” he had explain his reason to Aiba. And they still miss each other very much, and yes, they are still in love.
One Saturday, Sho had important information to share with Aiba and Ohno. So, that was Aiba’s chance to have a little fun and why not, make a little cash.
The next day, Aiba dragged Toma to Nino’s house to play videogames, surprising Nino for the unexpected visit, but as soon as the word game was said all was forgiven and forgotten. Apparently Toma was a really a good player and soon enough he and Nino were too absorbed in the game to notice Aiba or the ringing phone.
“Hello”
“Hi, Aiba-chan?”
“Hai, Jun-kun?” a mischievous smiled formed on Aiba’s face “How are you?”
“Fine, thank you”
“Happy to hear that. I haven’t heard much about you lately”
“Oh… Kazu doesn’t talk about me?”
“Well… at first he did, a lot, but now… are you guys in a fight or something?”
“No! of course not!”
“Ah, then he just must forgot, don’t worry”
“Can I talk to Kazu, please?” Jun was fuming.
“Of course, he and Toma are right here, I’ll-”
“Wait, Aiba! Who is Toma?”
“Nino haven’t told you about Toma, he’s like his best friend these days, he is really good at baseball and he likes videogames as much as Nino-chan.” He’s a really great guy, everyone likes him”
“I remember something Kazu mentioned before but I didn’t know they were that close” Jun was worried.
“Don’t worry Jun-kun, I’m sure Toma’s crush on Nino will pass”
“WHAT?!!!”
“Well, I’m not totally sure but it looks like it, he always follows Nino-chan with those lovely eyes and beautiful smile, but Nino loves you, right? So you have nothing to worry about, Jun-kun” Aiba was containing himself to not laugh “I’ll put you through right now”
“No, wait don’t… I’ll call him later”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, goodbye” Jun hanged up on Aiba, who in return couldn’t hide his victorious grin.
That night Jun’s call looked more of an interrogation to know more about his new friend, Toma. Weird, thought Nino.
Since Monday, Jun has been phoning Nino way more that before; so, it was time for Ohno to make his move. On Wednesday at lunch time he was sitting with Aiba and Toma while Nino was in the bathroom. They knew it was time of Jun’s daily call.
“Hello, Jun-kun?”
“H-Hi, Ohno-kun?”
“Yes, sorry Nino forgot his phone here; they just left a moment ago”
“They? Aiba-kun and Nino?”
“Oh no, Aiba is here with me, I mean Nino and Toma-kun”
“Toma?! Do you know were they are?”
“No, sorry, they just said something about wanting to eat alone; now that I think it was kind of weird” Aiba was giggling with a hand over his mouth while Toma had his wide open.
“Of course it’s weird!”
“If you say so” Ohno shrugged “Do you want me t-”
Jun was not on the line anymore. Ohno and Aiba were in a fit of laughter as Toma was looking at them with wide eyes and a terrified expression on his face. He had heard about Nino’s boyfriend and he didn’t sound like a person who will take good that his boyfriend was having private meetings with a new guy. He wanted to complain for what Ohno did, but a wink and a grin from Aiba made him forget about it.
On Friday they left school together to meet Sho and have something to eat. They were waiting in a table when Sho came inside with a surprise on his side: Jun. Nino couldn’t believe his eyes, he kept blinking and when he recovered Jun was already standing in front of him and it took them lest than a second for the both to be hugging tightly, Jun with a grin on his face and Nino with tears on his eyes.
“Wha- Whe-How?”
“I’m here to see my Kazu” Jun kissed his lips.
“B-But your mom an- school?”
“My mom is doing fine and you worry about school too much” Jun laughed a little at his speechless-cute boyfriend. “I’m transferring, babe. I’m moving here”
“What?! Jun, you’re not joking right?!”
“Of course not! My mom also thinks is a good idea as we’ll be close to family” Jun looked at Sho “And to start a new life”
Nino couldn’t help to grab him by his collar to kiss him senseless, not caring at all about the people around them.
“Well, well, it’s good to know that you missed me” Jun was teasing him.
“Of course I did, idiot” Nino didn’t stop clinging to his shirt.
When they sat down, Jun explained that he came before planned and that his mother will be in town in a couple of weeks.
“I just couldn’t wait more to see you again” Jun looked at his blushing Kazu.
“So, are you going to our school?” Asked Aiba excited.
“Sorry, no. I’m going to Sho’s. I couldn’t convince her to that”
“It’s okay, I don’t care. As long as you’re here” Nino quickly responded, still holding onto Jun.
Jun grinned and then looked at Toma smugly. “So, you’re Toma? The guy who follows MY Kazu?”
Toma gulped “Nice to meet you” he murmured.
Jun grabbed Nino’s chin and forced a deep kiss, making him moaned. When he pulled apart, Nino was flushed red.
“I’m Matsumoto Jun and Kazu is MINE. Nice to meet you”
Toma was horrified speechless at the threatening face of Jun.
“J-Jun, what was that? Did I miss something?” Nino asked.
“Nothing babe, I just wanted to make sure he knows who you belong to”
“Hey!” Nino’s protest died when he notice something.
Aiba and Ohno were grinning as Sho was giving them money.
Nino frowned as he started to understand the situation “What did you do?”
“Nothing, just a little experiment. We wanted to know if a jealous Jun will came in less than a week, that’s all” said Aiba.
“That’s not an experiment, that’s a bet!” yelled Nino.
“Really Jun, I thought you have more faith in Nino” Sho looked peeved.
“What did they tell you, Jun?” Nino asked.
“I-I… You played me?!” Jun couldn’t believe he felt into their game.
“Jun-kun got a little jealous about you spending time with Toma” Aiba responded Nino’s question.
Nino looked at Jun, who at the same time seemed embarrassed. He smiled. “It doesn’t matter now, I’m just glad you’re here”
Jun looked up to smiled Nino back, glad that Nino didn’t look mad.
“Besides, if Aiba had been telling lies about Toma-kun and me, must be because he’s wishing he was in my position” Nino was going to take some revenge.
“It wasn’t just me! It was Oh-chan too!”
“Yeah, well, it’s not Oh-chan who is drooling over Toma-kun these past weeks”
Aiba felt his cheeks blush at an alarming pace and to avoid looking at Toma, he left the table.
Jun was about to reprimand his boyfriend when Nino talked. “It’s time you talk to him” Nino ordered Toma
Toma nodded slightly and left following Aiba.
“I hope Aiba appreciates my help” Nino stated.
“Y-you-”
“And Jun-pon shouldn’t be so jealous, I was just trying to push Toma to confess”
“I hope they’re happy” Sho said.
Everyone else nodded knowing that Sho had been worried that he damaged Aiba, and now he is glad that Aiba has found someone who loves him back. He’s taking a huge burden off his shoulders, but he will never stop to care about Aiba, as he is his dear friend.
“I’m sure they will” Ohno talked in his peaceful voice.
On his way home with Jun, Nino received a message from Aiba saying that Toma and him were on a date. Nino read the message smiling happy for his friend. When they reached his house they stayed by the door.
“My parents aren’t home” Nino was blushing.
Jun smirked as he took Nino by the waist “So you’re saying-”
“I missed you” Nino whispered into Jun’s chest and holding his shoulders.
“Me too. A lot. But I’m here now, so we better take advantage of your parent’s absence. What do you think?”
“Pervert” Nino tried to sound mad but failed.
“Hey, I was you who brought it up” Jun pulled Nino closer to his body. “I love my Kazu” he whispered to his ear.
“I love my Jun-pon too” Nino murmured.
They stayed silent for a moment, taking in each other’s presence and scent that missed so much.
“Come on, let’s recover all the time we lost” Jun slapped playfully Nino’s butt.
“Jun-pon is horny” Nino teased.
“Only for you babe, only for you”
In one fast movement Jun put a giggling Nino over his shoulder and carried him upstairs where they satisfied the desire of their bodies and hearts.
Sometimes destiny feels like a bitch, and you have to learn to survive and move on; but there are times when there’s happiness in disguise, you just have to open your eyes and your heart to see it… As they saw each other.

Well, I finally ended it. I must thank all of you who had followed the story and gave me the encourament to continue.
I think this fic is better than my first one. Hope the next is better.
