Pumpkin takes about 120 days, give or take depending on the variety, from seed to full maturity. So, while I'll be planting it in the spring, you are correct in that its harvest will be in September, not July :^)

I hate most kale, but lacinato is sweet and not bitter, and is splendid when stir-fried with apples, carrots, mustard seeds, garlic, lemon juice, and soy sauce!

Er... will this all fit? I thought that pumpkins were fairly large, spready plants? And even our tomatoes in growth-stuntingly small pots have reached 2ft x 2ft leaf spans per plant.

I've had single zucchini plants that were 4'x4'. You might want to reconsider growing such a large plant in such a small area.

Should have mentioned to the zucchini and pumpkin concerns that those are going in a satellite garden with plenty of space to spread across the yard.

Good call, all!
