"If you don't like someone, how they hold their spoon will bother you. If you truly like someone, they could upend their soup into your lap and you wouldn't care a bit."

I know where I stand, so discuss away in the comments and I'll chime in.

I'm a tag! I feel so loved. ;)

I think that the general idea is true. But I think there are exceptions to everything, and that things change. For example, if you live with someone long enough, things about them start to annoy you. Doesn't necessarily mean you like them any less. And, of course, a bad enough infraction would hurt me no matter who committed it--although admittedly, I would be more forgiving of the person I like. :p

I agree. I might be a bit miffed, but if J upended his soup in my lap, I'd most likely invite him to have a picnic of it. As long as he had a picnic of other things while he was down there.

Well, I think that's mostly true, especially in new or not so deep relationships. However, I think when you're with someone long enough their quirks can bug you even though you love them. God knows Amanda can drive me crazy with things. When we were first together, sure, I'd probably think they were all cute. After 15 years, I can admit no, they're not cute, they're annoying. But not have it drive me crazy the way it would someone in who I was annoyed at.

Disagree completely. I'm more likely to nitpick a friend (since I know how they'll react) and even more so a family member (it's my duty).
