Is 17 the most random number? Redux.

I repeated my "pick a number between 1 and 20" experiment over in antarcticlust's scientific salon thelunarsociety. Here's the raw data. This time around, with 34 responses, 17 came up 26.5% of the time out of 34 responses. Here's a pretty little graph of the distribution. In a perfect scenario, each number would occur 5% of the time.

I wonder if 17 popped in his head, and then St. Patrick's Day, and he settled on it for that reason, or if the cause and effect relationship was the reverse.

That's a good question that I honestly don't know the answer to, as it was a couple of days ago, but I seem to remember St. Patty's Day was first and then remembering that it was on the 17th came after that.

Still, it's a very interesting observation.
