So, this morning, I started on the Master Cleanser fast. It's a 10 day diet of lemondade made with organic maple syrup. I heard about it from Beth, and it is also widely touted by David Blaine and Robin Quivers. (As I write this, I realize that "because David Blaine did it" is NOT a good reason to undertake anything, so let's just say I want to ( Read more... )

the best diet that i've ever followed was the "eat whatever the fuck you crave" diet. but in moderate porportions. like if i want icecream for dinner. i'll eat icecream. but not eat anything else.

I saw something similar in a vitamin/supplements store. The big difference being, you still ate, and it was pre-packaged. You got a big bottle of some syrupy stuff that you mix with water and different proportions depending on how far into the cleanse you are. I figure something like that is probably better than a fast-based diet, but whatever works for you.

This isn't really fast-based. I counted it, and I am gettint the same number of calories/points I would be on Weight Watchers (through the organic, pure, syrup).

Actually, most health nuts would never take something from a bottle in a store. (I inject lots of bad stuff so I'm not really one to talk). Supplements and mixes are the worst, even in the sports arena. This is all natural lemons or limes, pure syrup, and cayenne pepper. You can't even do the pepper from capsules, due to the gelatin, and you can't pre-made the fresh-squeezed juice, because it loses its potentcy with time.

You can still join me! I'm only on day 2. Run out and buy a bunch of lemons. I actually like the limes better, though. I hate syrup, so I wasn't looking forward to my first, sip, but it turned out totally cool.

i totally would join you, but it takes me at least a week to psych myself up for it, and i need to plan and prepare (get rid of food that will perish w/i 10 days, etc.) i may do it in the upcoming weeks, however, i wanted to try again before i go back to RI in july for my cousin's wedding.

for now, i'll just be your moral support

Peeing a lot? I dunno, I've just been doing whatever my mom does in terms of her diabetic diet. She cheats more than I do. I mostly eat vegetables, whole grains, and fruit. Occasionally I'll have sushi, but that's about it. I think the main thing I'm doing to lose weight is to walk every night with the dog until my back hurts. LOL!

Yes, it was a "flushing" experience.

I'm drinking a lot of lemonade right now, but only because it's sugar free. I am really afraid of many things, but becoming diabetic is the biggie of late. My mom's diabetes is a glaring reminder to eat better.
