Calling all fellow headache sufferers.

Aside from painkillers, have you found any other things that might help? Like, I don't know, hot showers or certain foods/drinks or whatever. I'm pretty much willing to try anything. At least once.

I don't know, but I do this thing where I grab handfuls of hair and pull in small, firm moves, and hen grab hair in other places and pull. I don't know, one of my friends showed me one day, and it works for me.

I tried that the other day. Not sure how hard I should pull *g* I suppose it has something to do with stimulating the blood circulation in the scalp..?

Thanks for the tip :)

I pull fairly hard but like, in smooth moves? So it's not like I'm tearing my hair/scalp out. :P I look like a cat, kneading when I do it!

That's a fun mental image. *g* Yeah, I think I get it now. I love getting scalp massage, and sometimes when I wear my ponytail too tight my scalp gets all numb. So this little pulling might help with that, too :)

Oh, I can totally vouch for cold and dark rooms. *nods* I'll certainly try those. I like vanilla and lemon scents anyway. *g*

Feeling better now, thanks. And thank you for the tips! :)

Vätskeersättning. (I can't for the life of me remember what it's called in English. It's the fluid replacement thing you can drink when you have stomach problems.) It also works splendidly against hangovers (drink before and after drinking). It's called Resorb (for example) in Sweden.

Even if you drink a lot of water normally the headache can be cause by lack of certains salts and stuff that the fluid replacement contains. It's always worth a shot. :)

Uh... is that like Maalox? Sucralfate? some kind of Antiacid stuff?
I've never heard of it working but it could work.

That sounds really interesting. Worth a shot, in any case. :) I found a recipe for the drink on Swedish wikipedia. Should save me money. *gg*

Thank you, hon. *hugs*

Fortunately for me, I'm not the headache-y type. All I can offer is a sympathetic ear and shoulder... :\

Thank you, dear. *hugs*

I wouldn't mind having the doctor from your icon tending to me, either. *g*

Granted, my headaches are usually sinus headaches or migranes but what I turn to when I don't want to use painkiller or the painkillers don't work is a hot bath with a cool compress(cold, wet washcloth) on my forehead. Also, citrus, menthol and eucalyptus oils. Peppermint tea is excellent for headaches. Feverfew(bachelor's button) is good, too. It's an anti-inflammatory that works a lot like ibuprofen.

Oh, I tried 'cold' this weekend. Worked really well with some aspirin :)

I have migraine too. Migraine and tension neck headache. :( I'll definitely look into the oil thing. And I love tea so it's no hardship trying these out. Thank you for the tips. *hugs*
