The same people who modernized 'Pride and Prejudice' into a vlog called 'The Lizzie Bennet Diaries' are doing it again, but this time with Emma ( Read more... )

Eeeeeeeee!

I need to watch it again, but...

Emma kind of annoys me, which I know is part of the point. She's annoyed me in the other adaptations (and, you know, the book :P), too, but she always grows on me, so I'm interested to see how they make that happen here.

I like Knightley (even though they're calling him Alex for some reason???). He feels... comfortable to me, if that makes sense. He always has, though, so I'm not all that surprised.

Can't wait to meet Harriet. And, you know. The rest of them. :D

(TL;DR... It was fun, and so far I like it about a bazillion times more than Welcome to Sanditon.)

The best thing--the very best thing--is that she has so far to fall. I know that sounds horribly horrible--but all those claims of perfection and how the whole reason the Weston's are together is because of her? Better than Oprah? Oh, my naive little snowflake! I think we are going to be in for a fun ride as she comes into her own--and I have no doubt that Emma will fall and learn in a spectacular fashion. :)

I really liked the playful Emma that pulled and pushed Knightley out of frame--and I agree he seemed very even-keeled, the voice of reason as always. I'm really interested to meet Harriet. And I really, really hope we meet Mr. Woodhouse. One of Emma's most endearing characteristics is how kindly she treats him. He simply must be a WebMD fanatic.

Anyway, I'm very excited to see where this goes--and it is definitely so so so much better than Welcome to Sanditon by far. Thank goodness. And it's filling that LBD -sized hole left in my heart after it ended.

Are they the same actors from LBD? The guy looked like Mr. Darcy maybe - but I haven't watched enough of LBD to remember. The girl looked sort of familiar, but she's not Lizzie.

You must be a huge Austen fan. I never read Emma. I liked Pride and Prejudice, but never became a rabid fan, so I'm mostly turned off by fanfiction books based on it (and there are tons of them, some from fairly well-known authors). Same goes for the movies. But I do hope you enjoy this series, as I remember how much you liked LBD and I know how nice it is to find something new that you enjoy.

All of the characters for Emma are unique, so there are no repeat actors. If there were they would play the same characters from the previous show--as the producer has said that they all live within the same universe ( ... )
