All of the characters for Emma are unique, so there are no repeat actors. If there were they would play the same characters from the previous show--as the producer has said that they all live within the same universe.

I love Austen. I haven't read any of the spin-off books. Perhaps I should, but I'm really *not* interested in vampires, and I don't know...my interest is low for the other spin-off books. The reason there are so many is because all of Austen's books are in the Public Domain. They can be used without copyright restriction. Crazy, huh?

I read P&P when I was quite young, but it wasn't until I saw the BBC miniseries and went back and re-read the book again in high school that I really appreciated it. After than I read all of her other books and enjoyed them, too.

I suppose with these I really enjoy seeing how they choose to adapt and modernize it. There are so many ways they could go, and to me this is the most intriguing. Plus I really loved Lizzie. Emma is a different character all together though and she has a LOT to learn, so we'll see what they do here. I'm optimistic that I will like her, even though her initial character is quite annoying.
