Apologies for my extended absence; umbran and I just spent the past week on a Caribbean cruise. It was partly my reward for recovering from surgery, partly help recovering from surgery, and partly therapy to help me survive the rest of a New England Winter. Oh, man, I read about this. JetBlue's logistics people basically ran face-first into a screen door, trying to cope with the effects of the weather on top of new FAA regs regarding crew working hours that took effect January 1, and they totally screwed it up. Eventually they had to just sort of throw up their hands and shut their entire operation down for something like 17 hours to let everything reset. Utter chaos, as you might imagine, ensued throughout the system.

To be fair to them, though, it's not as if they knew the new crew time regulations were coming on 1/1/2014 as far back as 2011.

Wait, no, it is as if that.

(slow. sarcastic. applause.)

I remember reading about it and thinking, I bet someone I know is going to get sucked into that vortex, but I was thinking of zonereyrie, who is virtually always to be found jetting off to Disney World at around this time of year ( ... )

I'd never have even thought of Disney should I ever book a cruise, but now they'll be at the top of my list. I am so, so, so glad that they found a way to get you on that ship!!!!!!!
